I found an old photo from Gretzky's bar in Toronto in 2007 where it looks like a half dozen CPers met up. Besides that, pretty sure Agamemnon and I were in one of the same groups at U of C circa 2003. That's it. If we had a CP lapel pin I'd stick it on the Flames hat I'm always wearing so people could spot me around town. It is nice to make that connection.

I'm probably going on about 10 people now through various connections, events, and coincidences. Three definitely know who I am in real life, and pretty sure one more knows but probably doesn't remember

In 20 years of posting here I’ve only met one CP member, who I bought tickets from. There is one other poster that I regularly buy tickets from, but we only correspond virtually.

Would love to meet more of you. A CP summer meet-up would be awesome.

Dozens.
A bunch in the ‘faking the cut’ era.
This makes me think if some old timers I haven’t seen around in a while. I hope KevanGuy is in a happy pile of hamburgers.
Some have been transactional. I’ve been pretty happy with Slava, Travis, and business connections too.

Never had the urge to meet CPers.

Not crazy about fantasy drafts and secret santas though.

I tend to like keeping internet community and real life community separate. Also get the sense that the vast majority of the board is a different age bracket with pretty different lifestyles from my own. Give me 20 years and I might feel more like one of the herd.

Nevertheless, have learned a great deal from people here. Most seem like wholesome, salt of the earth people who step up to help each other when it comes to real life matters.

Like is said in northendzone’s memorial thread, definitely more than 30.

Worked for KevanGuy one summer, met browna at Rexall with ShantzFan and Bill Bumface, obviously met Bingo, some CP meets, some random ones.

This is a great community.

Also, who has the license plate CGYPUCK? I've been seeing it around.

Is that Bingo?

I wanted to honk and ask last time, but it wasn't an ideal moment.

Met a few. All have been really great. O met Phanuethier (Edward) and his fiancee in Mountain View, and he was the one that said he bailed on meeting up with Cali Flames Fan at a hockey game because of reasons.

Also a nice visit with CETokyo and his wife in Tokyo a few years ago and got introduced to some great food and local insight.

Puxlut, I’ve seen once or twice because of kids swimming program events she is involved with.

ASP#26525 I knew for a long time before because we were kind of penpals from IRC days. I has no idea who they were, but they made a post on here and it clicked.

H&L when he had his beer store.

A near visit with JohnnyB in Shanghai?

A few brief encounters via the buy & sell.

I wanted to meet redforever, because she was trying to teach me and someone else how to make bread, and doing it over pictures and descriptions was very painful. I still suck at breadmaking.

I bought a replacement bidet, so half-expecting Sliver to show up any time now (by the way, they’re on sale again at Costco).

I have a project I’d really like to see if surferguy could do one day.

I am sure I have run into other people. There’s probably a couple of Hillhurst / Queen E parents here that I’ve encountered.

I sold an old corvette to a guy 3 years ago and while chatting said he was a CP member but he wanted to stay anonymous and wouldn't tell me his username, weird

Hope he's enjoying the car, I miss it

But that’s it in 20 years.

Edit….just remembered 2 more actually, Slava and the optometrist.
It's been a while. We used to email frequently. He mailed me a Plush Horse that looked like Blasty when my oldest was born.

I haven't heard back from the last email I sent, which was a while ago now I suppose.

I did a Google search of his name to see if anything came up, but it didn't.

He's a genuinely amazing human being. Hope all is well with him.

Has to be over a hundred.
Some met only briefly re Flames tickets, whereas there are a handful that are now life long friends.

4 CPers I’d never met just volunteered to spend the day with me working their butts off to clean out a strangers house in Discovery after the flood. Great guys.

CP slopitch. 2 teams.
The amazing camping tournaments that were filled with hilarious stories.

CP hockey drafts

The Czechtreks.

Last summer I spent a week in Croatia with Calgaryboy and our families.

Still play slo pitch with flameskickass. Back to back league champions.

Knew troutman and Brupal before CP.

Got assaulted by Puppetguy at some CP hockey game.

A great group of people, except for Locke.

Gonna guess around 20, all through the festivities that Aeneas has hosted for Calgaryboy, and a couple of CP hockey games (and sorry about being third man in, Aeneas). Every single CPer I've met has been good people.

Easily 50+ maybe 100.

When I used to be a lot more active quite a few CPers a year would come into our dealership and buys cars and get the Calpuck 'good guy' deal.

Unfortunately, toxicity and people wanting me to lose my career over having a different opinion than them really pumped the brakes on my posting and visibility. It's kind of a shame as it not only was it hurtful to me, it was hurtful to the community as a whole as I was more reluctant to be active and posting, and therefore not as involved in the car threads, so the good guy deals really slowed down. Either way I still help out a few people a year. Let's just say a lot of CPers are driving new Volkswagens or used cars off our lot.

I've I've also been a customer of quite a few posters on the board.

My tax accountant Locke is the best there is. If you aren't using him, you should be.

Peter Robinson is the softest spoken most soothing lawyer I have ever met, so use him too. He's the Bob Ross of lawyers.

I have the nicest carving board in the Calgary Metropolitan area thanks to surferguy.

I met Fotze. He bought tires. But I can actually say I'm one of the privileged few that met the legend. 'Duh.... corn."

And many many more I can't think of at this time.

Meeting Sliver is definitely on my bucket list. I know he's been in my showroom, but never introduced or revealed himself.

Regardless, for the better part, it's a great community of posters with the exception of the few that unfortunately have had the ability to cause quite a few of us some pretty serious problems and grief.

Only 1 member I've met, we found out we live a few blocks away from each other and met at the local watering hole for a pint and lunch. I imagine I'd meet more if I was a salesman or owned my own small business, but I'm still open for a meet up one day.

I remember talking to a guy in Mexico and somehow figuring out it was Bobblehead.

Kermitology was a classmate, a ball hockey teammate and our usher up in the nosebleeds.

Ran into Kobasew_19 or whatever Chuck Kobasew themed username the biggest Flames fan in Baltimore goes by when we were in Ottawa watching a game.

Went to school with "Jeff" who unfortunately passed, and had tickets a couple sections over from him and his brother DeanOMac.

Also met Josef from Bavaria because of this site, and we've crossed the ocean a few times to visit each other, and his kids have come out this way on their own to check out Canada.

I'm sure I'm missing a bunch more, but pretty neat the connections this place has facilitated.
