Pelletier has been bad lately. Not just one play or even one game. He looked lost and made lots of bad decisions

You could argue that he needs more room/playing time to grow but I can see why Sutter benches him.

Backlund has been the best centre on this team for 10 years and never gets to play with the best players on the team.

The fact that we will have never once seen these lines this season is beyond frustrating.
I agree. I had those lines at the start other than some tweaking with Pelletier not starting with the team. We had a Dube thread before the season if we thought he could be the guy on the first line. IMO this has been his best season. His speed would be an asset to that line, yet still have not tried it.

I also think Kadri and Toffoli can click. Toffoli has been great this year, Kadri not as much but they both play a game that always putting puck to the net and both like to get to the net. Add Pelletier for some skill it's no brainer IMO yet Sutter continues to throw out lines that make 0 sense to me.

Sure, bench him but for how many games in a row? He's also had good stretches as well. We need to coach that has a longer term vision with the young guys and will be more patient as they figure it out. We need the upside from these players.

Lindholm is the Flames top line center.

Backlund is the best defensive center, he however won't generate the offense.

They have him slotted correctly at 3rd line.

Like seriously they need to bring up the Wolf to at least play in a few games to see if he is equipped to play at the NHL level.

Besides you can't throw him in there blind when we waive Markstrom in the off season....

Didn't Huberdeau primarily play with Duclair and Bennett in Florida last year? That's not exactly an elite level of talented linemates there. Surely we have players who can fill that role for him, because to me this sounds more like a coaching/systems issue instead of a linemate issue.

They had an elite powerplay compared to the ECHL level one we have this year.

Like eff off Muller!

If you guys remember the first covid Sutter year - he is not ever going to start playing the young players by his own volition. Valimaki sat in the press box down the stretch.

Keenan87 and Ricardo are the two on my ignore list since joining CP in 2004. Try it out.

That’s a miserable existence.

What an over-reaction. Also, I like the post game stories…always read them. They’re especially helpful when the PGT is a s&*t show.

Pelletier did look like he was struggling a bit, so I don't think holding him out is a controversial decision, plus he was starting to take a lot of punishment.

I hope that as soon as the team is mathematically eliminated though and mistakes don't matter, that they put him in and let the reins off for the remainder of the season.

Can't put in Pelletier, he drives offense. Instead of course you go to the lineup that just struggled to score, makes absolute sense.

You should seriously consider editing this and apologizing, because that was in no way warranted and it crossed a line.

It is weird and crazy that at one point the Flames were like 5-1 and then changed the lines and I dont think ever went back to them.

Coach and players job is to win games...if the flames as an organization want to focus on development the rest of the year, they need to make changes or physically send people home...

Or...

Trade away players that aren't part of the future...
