Wow that is a very nice trade. Thank god the Oilers didn't get this deal done.

Yup. OTT's pick is MUCH more valuable than most of the 1sts that have ben tossed around so far (other than WSH's)

Any pick between 6-15 in this draft is worth more than 3 late 1sts, IMO.

Remember when COL wouldn't move their 1OV for 3 1sts, including the #6?

First rounds picks are not all created equal

ARI probably wanted more from a rival. Probably would have been a lot more for EDM or CGY to acquire him.

I’m honestly glad that we no longer have to see Chychrun’s name show up in trade rumors anymore

I like it for Ottawa. They've got a strong up and coming group.

So Tanner Jeannot fetched more than Chychrun in a trade. Didn't see that coming.

I don't think he did. I think Ottawa's 1st rounder this year has more value than all of the pieces Jeannot got.

Wait...Ottawa trade their first round pick THIS year? For Chychrun?

PLUS more picks? Not smart.

Top 5 lotto protected, turns to a 2024 1st lotto protected.

The other trend seems to be, teams will trade their picks but the second you ask for an already drafted top prospect, they hang up.

Not one high end prospect has moved so far. Tons of firsts have and maybe the Oilers traded one of their best prospects, but no top 30 prospects have moved. Arizona did ok because they probably got one in that deal, unless Ottawa takes off and wins a bunch of games down the stretch.

Still could easily be a top 10 pick in a very strong draft.

I think Chychrun is a solid player, but I don't like this deal for Ottawa.

2 years after this year to UFA status for a pick that could be top 10 in a very strong draft. They could regret it.

Over the next 3 drafts, Arizona has 21 draft picks in the first 3 rounds, including 4 first rounders and 9 second rounders. They have a total of 35 draft picks over the next 3 years. That is crazy.

Arizona banking on the sens continuing to stumble into next year. Huge risk for Sens to do this, but Chychrun is a pretty good player.

The condition of Ottawa makes the 2023 ECF is frickin laughable though. 0 chance.

Wonder how Chychrun and Chabot share ice time, they’re both big minute munchers.

I think it's good for both sides the more I think about it.

It's the Dougie Hamilton to Calgary trade.

Arizona: This gives them the best draft pick they were likely to get in the trade, as of today that pick would be 12th. Plus two other 2nd round picks. Think they could have got more had they acted earlier, but this first is likely the best first on the board.

Ottawa: Wanted a young, top pairing d-man to pair with Chabot. This gives them that, and he's a local guy to boot.

I like it for both sides.

If they are smart, they package some/lots of them to move up in the draft.

And then Coyotes get Matthews after Leafs get Mavi. Will they still be in the mullet dome arena though?

With people hoping for a Hanifin trade, this is probably a comparable (of the highest value) they’d be able to get
