There was some discussion on a recent podcast, it might have been Kipper & Bourne, about how he still has a house there, lots of family and spends lots of time there in the off-season. Might be open to going back and they might be trying to convince him to do so.

Monahan’s could have been more restrictive with his teams and Montreal was the only that worked. Maybe Zaitzev waived and would go anywhere in the US

Mortgaging the future to make cap room that might help get them barely into the bubble? Oooph.

It's really more like 3.75M savings next year, since your 6/7 D-man is still gonna cost at least 750k.
