Well that was fun. Top offensive players actually performed like top offensive players.
Sure seem like the game was going to end much differently after the first period. Markstrom finally gets a win, but with once again setting the team back with goals against early on the shot count, can really keep starting him? It's important that the goalie can allow their team to get their skates under themselves for the first period. The goalie is the one who needs to be the most prepared to start games.
You also cant ask ypur goalie to be Hasek at the start of every game because the team in front of you is napping.
Its about shot quality, not quantity that should be looked at. Markstrom is toutinely left out to dry on most of his goals. Breakaways, odd man rushes, deflections. He isnt getting beaten by bad shots very often

Damn. Buffalo is a fun team to watch. Flames on the other hand? Not so much.

Flames needed a win like that. Buffalo coming off a break with a 12:30 local start played heavily into the Flames favor and they took full advantage. Hopefully that can be a confidence builder. The next 5 games are winnable followed by 4 tough games before the deadline.
