I don't know. I mean it's not really punishment, per se... it's more like giving him a headset and a birdseye view to analyze the game along with the coaches.

Not being facetious at all, but it's not like dressing him is helping the team a whole lot right now.

I agree with others trying Huberdeau with Lindholm again. I think Lindholm will benefit from playing with Pelletier

Its right there on the list along with
- Bag skate!
- Scratch them all and call up the entire AHL team to play instead!

His "backcheck" on the second goal was brutal. We have a bunch of Oiler examples we mock that are exactly like that except our guy doesn't score over a point a game.

Lucic was scratched for a few games and when he came back he was so good he went right onto a line with Huberdeau and Kadri...

The top two lines aren't productive, so make a switch to see if at least if one of the lines can be consistent.
No sense in messing with something that is not broken. The Flames are 5-4-1 in their last 10.

Should go like this :

Ruzicka-Lindholm-Huberdeau
Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman
Dube-Kadri-Toffoli
Pelletier-Lewis-Duehr

Is Ritchie skating? If Sutter is insistent on no Duehr, Ritchie could at least spell Lucic.

I can’t believe someone is seriously suggesting Ruzicka for the top line.

Totally agree with this. Bet you Pelletier would score his first on a line with Backlund and Coleman

When he played there early in the season he was playing well.

His inconsistencies started really showing when Sutter thew him on the lower lines.

He is a skilled player with size, why not play him with players that put him in a position to succeed.

He started on the lower lines, that’s how he earned his way up. His inconsistencies started when he was moved up, and that’s why he got moved down.

Out of Lindholm, Dube, Mangiapane, Huberdeau, Kadri, Toffoli, Backlund, Coleman, Pelletier… who does Ruzicka replace?

Ruzicka did not get moved up for playing good on the 4th line. He was a scratch and got put onto the first line when Huberdeau got hurt, I think it was his first or second game of the year.

He is a skilled player that is trying to play a different game now that he is on the 4th line. Outside of his back check mistake last game, he had a really good defensive game. I do not know what you all are expecting from a skilled player on the 4th line. It’s the classic case of misusing the player

Cause hes not that good. Nice shot but plays with no urgency and just slowly glides around.

Just not true, people who say Ruzicka plays with no urgency are just repeating the #### about him from 4 years ago when he was a teenager.

Point me to situations where he shows no urgency. You wanna see a player who plays with no urgency? Look at Kadri (defensively)

Last game, gliding back on the backcheck.

That was more of a misread than not trying, he was planning to pick up the rebound but it was not the right play.

Players, especially rookies make mistakes like that, does not mean they have no urgency

He played well there last year. Development isn’t confined by season.

I don’t see how it’s a “classic case” of misusing the player. Again: who do you replace? Someone needs to come out, so who drops to the 4th line for you?

I do not think he played that well there last year, he was whatever just like this year on the 4th line. In the offseason nobody was even talking about trying him in the top 9 on this forum other than me basically. People’s opinion of him last year on the 4th line where the same as they are this year. He is just not a 4th line player, just like many skilled players.

I think he should have been tried in the top 9 spot some games back before Pelletier came up, that was misusing him. Right now I’m more of an opinion of trying these lines first before putting Ruzicka back up there because I think Pelletier plays the game that will let Lindholm to relax a bit on the forecheck and look for open slot to use his shot. As Huberdeau said yesterday, his strength is predicting the play, Kadri is an absolute puck hog and chooses the selfish play most of the time that usually don’t make much sense, and he doesn’t see his teammates. He should play with players like Dube, not Huberdeau

Hub - Lindholm - Pelletier
Dube - kadri - toffoli
Mang - Backlund - Coleman
4th line doesn’t matter
