If you take Brad's approach of getting out in front of the deadline, could only be 10 or so games left before the Flames make a move (if they're making a move). Winning these last two games before the break (CHI and SEA) could be pretty significant when it comes to any planning in relationship to what comes down the pipe.
Well in an ideal world those "looks" would have started 20 games ago, but Lucic was put on that line, they went on a shooting percentage bender for 7 games and now they have a leash even though production and effectiveness has dropped off.

It's actually criminal the Blue Jackets were only called on a single infraction that game...especially zero in the first period. Huberdeau basically got a penalty for not diving when he was interfered with.
Lol dino. Stick to the PGT.

I know he defends all things Flames, but on the replay you can see Gaudreau arm pit the stick.

I think they deemed it a dive.

Given the Flames penalty run in overtime this year I was worried though, that and the Laine spin that took him off his skates with a Flame nearby.

Exactly my point. If you look at the clip of that whole sequence on the Flames Twitter account, I think you need to find a whistle there. Call coincidental penalties or whatever you like, but I felt it should have been shut down.

CP would have burned to the ground had roles been reversed.

Well in this case that would have been a mistake in my opinion.

The puck was stripped and Gaudreau just arm pitted the stick after he lost it to avoid the 3 on 1 he just created.

Good missed call in this case.

Sorry thought you meant that one.

I haven't seen an up close replay on the Laine one to be honest. Flames was there though, so yeah could have been a call. Looked like he might have over turned and lost an edge though.

Way too marginal to call in OT. Laine didn't complain. I think he went down on his own.

You need to find a whistle there? Never seen someone lobby to hard to have their "team" get another OT penalty called. Must be having McDavid flashbacks.

None of those are penalties he took Hanifins stick, if a penalty was to be called its on Johnny.

I prefer less whistles to more, even if it means we see obstruction on the uptick. Not everyone might feel that way though.

Yeah my ideal game is 2-3 powerplays each and only when either blatant or when a scoring chance is created or taken away.

I'm a dinosaur, and don't want a return to clutch and grab, but fighting through stuff in hockey was always part of the fun when playing.

That was absolutely holding the stick and a dive. You'd have to be blind or an NHL ref to think otherwise.

Heck, Flames got a penalty FOR fighting through interference in that game.

You are always like this...every call against the Flames is a good call and the odd thing that actually goes their way are "missed calls". You wonder why people question your motives

Gaudreau is obviously a dive and stick hold because he knows he is beat...PL goes down pretty hard for no good reason.

Either would have been ridiculously bad calls but you called me out for calling the Gaudreau play a dive, look at the evidence

I'm not sure how someone watching the replay doesn't see that Gaudreau loses the puck and then clamps onto Hanifin's stick and leans back to try and either shield the puck or draw a penalty. I think Gaudreau was surprised Hanifin let go and he bailed backwards still clamped to Hanifin's stick.

I have no clue what happened on the Laine play. The way he fell it look s like Laine could have been interfered with, but I just can't see anything on the replay. That play is strange.

Edit: watched the Laine play like 5 more times. Im 50-50 on whether Mangiapane got a hook to pull him off balance or he just blew a tire. If Mange did hook him it must have been the absolute slightest of tuggs to just pull Laine off balance. Need another angle.
