I hadn’t hear the term for this time of year.

The Jewish calendar for example is based on the lunar calendar as well but its new year is in the fall as part of the high holidays.

Well there are 12 new moons in a year so you can pick whatever one you want for the “new year”.

Or something like this. Someone with photoshop skill can do a better job than me.

It would take some work to get the front crest and rear numbers sourced or duplicated (though they may be cheap patches heatpressed on, as they aren’t on a jersey to be worn in a game) but besides that, the shoulder numbers look plain, the C on the shoulder is same as on Blasty.

The jersey itself is a generic red template Adidas practice jersey.

Similar to the Persian lunar calendar.

The Nisg̱a'a also celebrate the lunar new year, but it doesn't happen for another couple of weeks. They consider the first crescent moon to be the beginning of the lunar new year.

Anyway, those jerseys look nice. Too bad they aren't wearing them for an actual game.

I hope the Flames are using it as a test for implementing some of these on their actual jersey permanently. The yellow letters and the detail on the numbering specifically would be totally welcome. Look better than the regular jerseys to be honest.

Lunar new year is preferable to Chinese new year because it's not solely a Chinese celebration. For instance, in Vietnam it's Tet and the year of the cat is now being welcomed in. It's hard to keep up with Asian new years though: Balinese, Thai and Khmer new years are all still yet to come and are all on different dates.

I love these jerseys! Would love to have one.

These look better than either of the black ones they're wearing during games. The only thing that bugs me is the alternate captain patch on the wrong side.
