I have a co-worker with a house in Palm Springs, and he was complaining his December gas bill was USD1200 - mostly to heat the pool.

It really isn't. If we can somehow import that weather and become the Palm Springs of Canada it would be awesome.

I thought the east retired in Florida and the west in Palm Springs or Arizona. Florida has this scary thing called humidity that we Westerners don't fully understand the oppresiveness of. Easterners are used to that summer swamp heat

I thought this post was going to be about how Calgary has the most days of sun than any other place in Canada. Lindholm's wife is always posting pics on Instagram, showcasing our sunny-ness to her Swedish friends back home.

Are we talking about Palm Springs, Florida or the other one in California?

I might be wrong here, but I sort of recall a discussion way back that a considerable number of NHL players actually retire in Buffalo. Anyone else hear something about this?

As far as the OP's thought, my guess is a lot of pro athletes (those that did well, but maybe not enough buy an island) retire where they have the most history as a player and strongest recognition- ie. increasing their chances of earning in advertisements, appearances, being a relator etc.

edit- possible the OP doesn't mean a literal retirement, but moreso signing a final big contract and then sort of fading into the abyss with a below average performance. If so, this phenomenon happens absolutely everywhere, in every sports league.

I like Palm Springs. A little sleepy and boring, but a nice place to relax.

Not sure wtf Calgary has to do with Palm Springs.

St. Albert is the Calgary of northern Alberta.

I thought this thread was about a new community in Calgary with tropical trees and a newfound underground water source. And no pictures of either. Leaving disappointed.
