I've no complaints about responses, and am willing to, and did, expand on the reasons for my feelings. Glad to be a forum member here.with you Flame fans, and hope an outsider perspective can be interesting. Happy Holidays to all. Btw, on Chicago sports futility, the 'Hawk win over the BJs broke an 0-19 run for the current active teams. It's been a crummy Fall/Winter sporting season, for Chi fans.

Next year it'll be Matthew Phillips starring for the Geneva-Serviettes.

You hire Travis Green as head coach you’re going to have a bad time

Lol....my problem with this discussion is that the Blackhawks won cups in 2010, 2013, and 2015.

They suck now partially because they are rebuilding following an almost dynasty. I would gladly change places.

The Cubs also won in 2016. The Bulls haven't won in a while, but they are the most winning team in the modern era.

Seems like a sports fan so used to winning that not winning for 5-6 years seems sad. Try not winning in over 30 years, with most seasons ending in a first round loss or worse.

Blank, the sad part of the 2016 Cubs, for me, is that their success came far too late for the family members that made me a Cub fan. My father, and the aunts that took me to every weekend home game were all gone, with a lifetime of patience unrewarded. Bittersweet feelings, at best for the one Championship in a century, then the greed of yanking the games from WGN, for subscription TV, to gouge fans for that brief taste of success, seems intolerable.

But, on the topic, no mention of this tournament even exists in my local media. I don't know if even ESPN will give much detail, in the US.

Stay the course, Thefoss
I think my post was mis-interpreted. I was by no means saying this forum is for Flames fans only. I just saw the poster lamenting about the state of professional Chicago sports teams, when they have had a Blackhawks dynasty, a Bulls dynasty, a Cubs World Series, a White Sox World Series all since the time the Flames had won a cup. It was more "reminder this is a Calgary Flames" fanbase that hasn't won anything since 1989, we know what it's like to be suffering fans!
