Mangi hasn’t exactly done much on that line anyways. Why not try Lucic at least he can get to the dirty areas.

Why not Phillips he goes to the dirty areas to score most of his goals as well.

You can disagree with what Darryl has said about Phillips (I sure do) but to call it fireable is richer than Ghirardelli squares

That said, Darryl's devotion to Lucic is really wearing thin. He played well last night but I think that level of deployment works against maybe three teams in this league. SJ is beyond awful.

If Sutter could he would roll Lucic all 4 lines, I don't understand the love affair.

Also don't get why same lineup wouldn't be deployed, they played well, get the W - Line blender!

Ignoring Phillips here for a second...in what world does Lucic deserve top 9 time over Ruzicka (Even with a bad penalty).

Lucic has taken bad penalties all season...Ruzicka takes one and get demoted. This type of attitude kills creativity and energy overtime. People afraid to take a risk or make a mistake.

I would like to see this as our top 9.

Ruzicka-Lindholm-Toffoli: This worked while Huberdeau was hurt.
Huberdeau-Kadri-Dube: Dube is the closest forward we have skill set wise to Duclair / Bennett who worked with Huberdeau.
Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman: This is an elite 3rd line if they find past chemistry.

Relax. Could just be message-sending to Ruzicka.

I hear you ... but keep in mind the chemistry is basically one game old and against a terrible Sharks team.

It's not like this top six has ran off 8 wins in their last 9 games and filled the net.

I want to believe that Boston was inquiring about Looch and wants to see him in a top six role so they pull the trigger on bringing him home.

Wasn’t this quote / exchange from like 2 weeks ago? This is not a new quote so weird to post it now and frame it that way.

What if Lucic is able to shoot a puck 4 feet wide from the slot every night and have it bounce in off a dman? If that is a go to move that he has in his arsenal then it totally makes sense for him to be in the top 6.

I don't really care what message you're trying to send. Having Lucic in the top 6 is not a recipe for success.

Enough with the mind games.

From spending multiple games in the press box because he's not very good to top 6 role? Kind of sums up this season so far. Confusing and disappointing.

Yeah putting Lucic in the top six doesn’t get you “W’s” Darryl. You will not be impressed.

It is too bad that this team is in cap jail next year because swapping out Lucic for Boeser has that top 9 looking pretty strong.

With that said Ruzicka or Philips would be a better fit on that line than Lucic

How has Meloche looked?
I thought he would have been our first call up at the start of the season.

I'm kind of hoping Sutter is going to give Phillips some shifts on that 2nd line.
