That would appear to be the key. Between games where Lucic was moved up the lineup, games where Lewis was moved up, and games Rooney wasn't dressed, there hasn't really been a set fourth line. All three players have been caved in on xGF%, but not, as chance would have it, when playing together – so far.
Small sample sizes produce weird results. Remember how some coaches used to put their backup goalie in and then switch right back to the starter, to avoid using up their timeout? Somewhere on earth there might be a goalie whose save percentage can't be calculated because he was only on ice for a minute or so and never faced a shot.
