They've been injured, sorry it's an excuse that works both ways!
Compared to the average NHL team the Flames are injury free. link to NHL injury analysis

If that few injuries throw the team into contention for a lottery spot then the organization does not have enough depth OR the management/coaching is bucking the new norm of playing guys on their ELC --

Andersson was playing 23:51 for Oct and 24:21 in November

Weegar went up 21 secs a game from Oct to November

Hanifin went up from 21:08 to 23:39 .... The extra 2:31 game was just too much?

Even the 2021/22 team was not nearly as good with Tanev being injured and Stone exceeding all expectations as a panic replacement.

Lottery spot? They're .500 with the league's toughest schedule. That was silly.

And yeah you're listing 5-10% increases in ice time of course that matters.

But what are you arguing? They clearly looked exhausted on Saturday, there isn't much debate.

If you want to get into whether or not they should be tired you can, but it's seems pretty pointless to me.

Missing your#4 from last season for the whole schedule and your defensive Kingpin for 5 plus adjusting back matters. Silly to think otherwise.
