One of BT's under-rated moves. Great acquisition for a 3rd.
Is he a 2nd pair guy or a really good bottom pair guy? Not sure but the reality is you need your #5 to be able to be a #3 or #4 because of injuries.
I didn't like him as a player prior to him joining the Flames. But he's been a surprise to me and for some reason his occasionally reckless and free wheeling style cracks me up.
Glad he re-signed particularly in light of Kylington not being available.

our back end would be a tire fire this year, if he hadn't re-signed
IMO, he is easily playing at a top 4 level right now
and he is an easy guy to like and root for

One knock on him for me is that he takes too many bad penalties - if he cleans that up, that would make him all the better in my books.

Zadorov has been a pleasant surprise over the last couple years and I do think he's really stepped up his game another notch this year. I think we all knew he about his bone-crushing hits before he joined the Flames, but the big surprise to me is that he isn't the offensive black hole that he was made out to be - he seems to have gained the confidence to actually carry the puck or join the rush. And it's not the most important stat, but his +10 is the best on the team so far this year.

I remember he was a pick that we were hoping fell to us with the Porier pick. I'm glad it worked out with him here.

Zadorov improvement is significant. Matching up against Crosby all night and holding his own and his ability to skate the puck out of the zone with his size an ability to play physical is a rare combo.
His timeline of breaking out reminds me of Chara. A little behind Chara but he's trending up fast.
It's too bad Treliving didn't get him for longer than 2 years

So much this. He's usually good for one "Literally WTF Zadorov?!" play a night.
He's not the quickest player out there, but man can he ever motor once he gets going.

I just realized who he reminds me of.
"The Monk" (Jason Statham's character) from the movie Mean Machine.
Obscure reference but that's who Big Z is.

Big Z
Yes he has taken some major strides and he doesn't take as many penalties this year either as per BIg D.
I haven't enjoyed watching someone kill like he does since the tunnel of death days and Regher.
Big hitters over the years get my attention going all the way back to Brad March, Jamie Macoun, Rob Ramage, Gary Suter all could flip a mean switch and nail you.
I love Big mean nasty D men who clear the F ing net and crush their enemies driving them before them....ad its the best thing I life ....it really is.
I sure wish Mackey would play better ....he's better than even he knows.
I still wish Valimaki would have worked out.
Glad Tanev is back and I still miss Gio .

Probably. And because it isn’t all time.

Zadorov-Weegar is a really, really good pairing.
When they are both on the ice, the Flames get twice as many shots and twice as many goals as their opponents. They don't get quite twice as many chances, so puck luck has been a factor, but not a huge factor.
Those people around the league who said Weegar was overrated can go right back to herping their derp.
