Would agree that makes sense.

But man he doesn't even seem to be looking for linemates when he has the puck. He could have tunnel vision with a new team and expectations, but feels like maybe it's somewhere in the middle?

Adjusting, but also a "I got this" player.

Kadri actually reminds me of Sam Bennett in that regard - the carrying the puck and going hard all the way to the net aspect. I think Kadri has way more hockey sense and is a much better passer, but the way they both like to rush the puck straight into the zone strike me as similar.

In pre-season, and early in the season, one of the discussions was that Kadri is a passer, like Huberdeau, and Huberdeau needs a shooter to set up. Which was one of the reasons that most people thought Lindholm was a better match.

I think it's most likely a product of the talent around him. Imagine leaving Colorado and coming to this group, which is big on effort but lacks natural finish and elite skill, comparatively.

Admittedly, most fall well short of the Avs on that front, but it's a stark contrast when you're surrounded by Mackinnon/Rantaanen/Makar on PP1 to the Flames equivalent. Likely recognizes he's gotta be 'the guy' based on early season performance and the linemate trust isn't there.

That would be the case for sure if he played with MacKinnon and Rantanen, but he didn't

186 minutes with Andre Burakovsky and Valeri Niscushkin
81 minutes with Andre Burakovsky and JT Compher
73 minutes with Burakovsky and O'Connor
62 minutes with Landeskog and Nichushkin

The Flames can match that I would think.
