Mediocre team that is missing talent. Markstrom consistently costing the team points.

At this point, the Flames should seriously look at retooling this season. Try to get a top 10 pick.

As for Sutter not wanting a retool, he can leave too. There is no reason why Lewis and Lucic should be playing so much. I was excited when he came on board a few years ago but honestly, I think he tries too hard to be unique.. which hasn't been working at all.

Can't win them all, and that was a pretty good game by TB. Credit to Tampa, move on to the next one and get 2 points.

As for the game itself, I liked Z for most of the night. Tanev was also his usual solid self, it's just great to have him back in the lineup. I thought Toffoli and Ruzicka had chances, and too bad they didn't go in. The Mangiapane - Kadri line seemed a bit flat tonight, but I liked the energy from the Hubredeau - Backlund line.

I was watching the away stream, and the lightning broadcasters made a few interesting points. First they mentioned that most of the Flames scoring chances(either during the season or in the last stretch) came from transition and not from the cycle. In addition, they mentioned how the Flames are shooting from everywhere without anyone driving up the center of the ice. I really think that we should work on the movement towards the net, either from a D pinching or from the frowards. I also thought that Hanifin was a bit lost on PP1 today, so I would prefer either #52 or #4 there.

The whole team needs to be better and I don't know what the hell Sutter is doing this year.

That being said, this team doesn't have the horsepower to score 4 goals a night and that is what they need to do to overcome the goaltending. There's always an excuse for Markstrom on here but he's 60th in the league in SV% (Vladar is 63rd), not good enough for a guy who is supposed to be in the Vezina conversation.

I wish Sutter would just leave the likes of Lucic, Lewis and Ritchie on the 4th line and play them under 10 minutes.

And let these 3 lines stick together and figure things out.

Ruzicka - Lindholm - Toffoli
Huberdeau - Kadri - Mangiapane
Coleman - Backlund -Dube

I’m a huge Sutter apologist but this team is on a crash course for him to be fired by Christmas. His decision making deserves a lot of scrutiny and the team is vastly underperforming.

Sutter needs to realize that he’s cutting himself off at the knees with his over reliance on veteran grinders.

His best NHL success has come with younger groups. 03-04 Flames were young, both his cup winning Kings teams were young, but he’s somehow convinced himself that he needs to rely on vets.

Call up Phillips, Call up Pelletier, Call up Zary

This team needs some energy and enthusiasm. It needs some youth.

Didn't he just get extended. The Flames aren't firing him even if they should. Nice little retirement gig for him.

Tough to win when guys that collectively make 25-40% of your cap aren’t playing up to their ability.

If Sutter gets fired by Christmas, Treliving won't have a job either.

They played a really strong road game, but the Gods were not on their side toonight.

First, Lucic opens the scoring, but the play is an inch offside, then the Bolts score right away and they are down one.

They keep working hard and really limit Tampa's offense, and they finally get another goal, only to have Markstrom let in the stinker.

End of story

I respect Treliving for doing his best to salvage the #### sandwich he was served over the offseason but it clearly didn’t work.

This game reminded me of the Brent Sutter days. Fall behind and just kind of know the team isn’t gonna make a comeback …. No matter how hard they push

Huberdeau hasn’t been great this year but he was their best skater tonight IMO.

I thought the Flames played well for a large part of the game. Just not doing much around the net. Markstrom played well but can't defend that 3rd goal, yikes. Not sure what was going on there. But tough to win with one goal, and a team that looks way off offensively.

The team started the season well, looked good, good forechecking. But as soon as Sutter put the lines in a blender it's been a different team, and not in a good way. Obviously whatever he is doing offensively isn't working, so go back to the lines that started the season. I know the top line didn't have great chemistry, but the team had 3 lines that were rolling. So instead of having one subpar line and 3 good ones, we now have 4 lines that all seem disjointed. I like to believe he's smart enough to go abck to those original lines, I guess we'll see.
