I've been in a cast and air boot since Oct 2nd. Foot was too swollen to put into a shoe until 4 weeks passed. This sounds serious. Did anybody see him block a shot or anything with his skate last game?

According to Wills, he blocked 3 shots last night.

He was doing a handstand when they wrote the injury report.

Picturing the reaction if Sutter calls up Walker Duher or Zohorna over Phillips or Zary.
It's ugly.

I can understand wanting to call up Zohorna but you have the AHL's goals and points leader in one package down there. He's also two years younger than Zohorna.
Just feels like the obvious pick.

If Phillips gets called up, does he need to pass through waivers to be sent back down?
If so, I doubt he gets called up if the plan is to simply play him a few games and then send him back.

Yes but so does Zohorna. Flames likely won't be able to afford to call up anybody on an ELC (Zary, Pelletier).

It way well depend then on who they would prefer losing if they need to get sent down.

Taking a while to get to 5000

on Daily Faceoff, Frank Seravalli suggests that both injuries are present.
So the Flames were correct in suggesting the upper body injury that kept him out, but he also has a foot injury as well

If he's had the foot injury for a while it would explain why his skating has looked off at times this season.

Zohorna would have some justification - NHL experience and playing well at AHL level too (even if not as good as Phillips).
But if they call up Duehr I would drive to the saddledome and yell angry things at Brad through his office window.
Ryan Pike mentioned his name on the radio as a potential call up this morning and I wanted to yell at him for even speaking it into existence (that and he had said Markstrom has played very good this season which also is ridiculous to say).

Oh God, I hope it's not Duehr they call up. If they don't want to call up Tiny then call up Big.
