k im just not going to respond to your #### anymore because i have better things to do like #### my model girlfriend rather then try to convince people like you of commonly held hockey knowledge.
Yeah one thing you can't say is that the Flames had an easy schedule to start the year.
IMO it's actually kind of bad to have such a long home stand to start the year (nice to get on the road, get some team bonding going), and all the opponents have been tough. Including Buffalo who have played some good hockey so far this season.
The Pens were a weird team to watch last night. Looked like they were cruising to a victory during the first, then completely fell apart and looked terrible the rest of the way. Any team with Crosby can't be taken lightly, but if the Flames can contain him like they did the Canes top guys they have a good chance to win this one. Really would love to see the top line start to gel a bit more, specifically I'd like to see Lindy play like he can, he's been pretty 'meh' to start this season. Lots more to give.

Full disclosure, I did not see the game. But the call against the Pens after the McDavid crash sounded weak and if thats the case I've seen teams play differently after that for fear of being called. Basically collapsing, reactionary hockey. Letting the Oilers walk in on them. Wonder if that was the case last night?
There was nothing particularly unusual about that call. Like most calls, sometimes it gets called, sometimes it doesn’t, but there was nothing surprising about it.

I think that call definitely changed the game, but the Pens weren't playing like they were scared of penalties after that, they just played bad, period.

Darryl never ceases to amaze me. Just a legend with dealing with the media.
Yup. And some interpret it as being short or snappy, but that's not Darryl's intention at all. The man has forgotten more about hockey than we or the media knows about hockey, so when he shares his thoughts and seemingly seems to hit back when he says, "you guys", etc, he's trying to remind people of the right way to build a culture and a wrong way, which according to him was how things used to be conducted in Calgary.

I think it being McDavid is why it was called...there was no infraction. If that was Derek Ryan there would not have been a call IMO. That being said one bad call shouldn't cause a 6-3 loss.
