Toffoli experiment needs to end on the top line. Huberdeau needs to start taking some shots instead of passing to Toffoli who whiffs on one timers, and can't hit the net to save his life. Lindholm with zero shot on net tonight. Obviously, the loss is not just on the top line but the whole team. But 4 games, zero even strength goals combined.

Hopefully we get to see Vezina Markstrom again and the top line do something 5v5

I guess 81-1 is acceptable, but it’s not exactly 82-0.

Markstrom, while not wholly to blame does seem.. off.

Is Hanifin somehow integral to our defense?

I like Toffoli, he's great, I think placing him beside Huberdeau and Lindholm is asking 400HP to keep up with 600 HP, it can't and neither can he. Drop him down in the lineup and I think he's a player you're happy with. - Who replaces him, I don't have that answer.

Woof. Hard to blame Markstrom on any of those goals but giving up 3 in the first and getting yanked is not helping. Hopefully is psychological game is strong as I feel a rough end to last season plus a rough start to this season is a recipe for disaster this season if he’s not resilient.

cue the over reactions
team is 3-1 with likely the hardest strength of schedule in the league so far

poor game, they still almost tied it up in the third

toffoli has been strong to start this season .. why is he being made a target the one time when he shouldn't be ? .. assist and +1 tonight

yes huby needs to elevate his game 5 on 5 and lindholm has been rusty .. toffoli has played his part just fine

Better team won. Plain and simple. We had some nice pushback going for a second there but the momentum dried back up again. I thought Darryl’s line jumbles were interesting in the 3rd

I didn’t mind Toffoli tonight, he was getting into the right positions and shooting a lot, just no finish. Hurberdeau has vision and lots of tricks but needs the puck in the offensive zone to be effective, and Lindholm and to a lesser extent Toffoli are not facilitating that.

yup . nazem half an inch away from making it 4-4 . maybe without the sympathy call against the momentum of play they do tie it . oh well

Him getting pulled though was to try and wake the team up. Unfortunately it didn't help this time.

Not a great game from

Lucic
Ritchie
Rooney
Lindholm
Mangiapane (despite his goal)
Andersson
Tanev
Zadorov (despite his goal)
Markstrom

They'll be better next game.

Toffolli has been double touching every pass. If he could start getting one timers off he will start burying more.

Ain’t even mad. They were better.

That’s a playoff team if the goaltending holds up.

Good for them.

That’s what happens on Reverse day. Sabres beat Flames. Sens beat Capitals. Blue Jackets beat Preds. Sharks beat Rangers. Leafs beat Stars. Oilers beat Canes.
