In fact, the only named jersey I can still wear is #34.

I think you could still wear Monahan.

With enough time you can still wear almost any crested jersey.
I still wear my Jagr all the time. And if my Gio and Monahan's weren't signed I'd wear them too.
I'd say the only fully retired one is my Gaudreau, cause F that guy.

I saw a guy getting a new Jagr crested jersey at the dome during the home opener. So apparently that one is still a safe choice, lol.

I know I could. But why would I? He plays for a different team now.
The way I see it, it's ok to wear former Flames named jerseys only if they have retired as a Flame. So, I guess, Glencross and Jagr would still qualify. Which reminds me, I should ask at the Fanattic if they can re-crest a jersey.

Yeah, nothing wrong with wearing Glencross or Jagr.
In fact, if I go to a game before buying a new jersey, I'll probably wear either my Glencross or Kipper.

So no Iginla? Seems hard core. I see a lot of those, plus a few Reghers.
Glencross didn't retire a Flame.

Iginla is the exception. His number was retired by the organization, so this does give him a special status. And you're right about Glencross, I forgot he had a short stint with Washington after the trade in 2015. Again, whatever, to each their own. It's just a jersey. I was talking about my take on it.

You can go directly to Great Plains Cresting (by Deerfoot City) as that is who Fanattics (and Sport Chek) send their cresting out to. Cost is $100. They can crest anything.

I have to be conscientious of which named jerseys I get. I like Stone, so why would I of all people purchase his jersey?

in that case maybe pick up a Lewis jersey

This is pretty accurate, walk around the dome on any given night you'll see a few 15 year old #3s in the crowd. And I don't think he was exactly well thought of for the first couple years post departure. I own one, but don't wear it to games because Dion scribbled on it.

With reverse retros likely to be the lazily designed and approved (in the 90s and now) and gawdawful pedestals, I think any former Flame is fair game for putting in the back of one of those, and all jersey rules are out the window.
Outside of Iginla there was no stars in that era. Putting a current name on a jersey stuck in a bland 1990s design seems out of place. How about a league star from the same era in mid 90s that ended up playing for us 20 or so years later?

Because the jersey design, at best, look direct out of 1995 and should’ve stayed there (if ever seen the light of day).
When the Flames wore retros once a year in 2014 and 2015, it looked odd too to see Backlund in Colin Patterson’s 11, David Jones in Tim Hunters 19 etc.
So, some 1995 names probably look best on these.

Meh, some fans are just absurdly serious about jerseys. It's so silly, it's all for fun. Just buy jerseys put whatever you want on them and have fun at the games.
But if we are being pedantic then yes, it makes perfect sense to get players names that have worn the jerseys. Players in the 90's will not have worn the reverse retro, this years players will have.
You're just mad cause it's a pedestal jersey. Don't worry, it barely shows, lol.
