I’d prefer the bottom 6 to be:
Coleman-Backs-Rooney
Lucic-Ruzicka-Lewis

He’s a LW I think.

I think there will be a lot of line and pairing shuffling in the first 10 games. Probably shouldn’t get too attached to this lineup.

Say what you will about Lewis and the offence he brings but he is all effort all the time. Way more than you can say about Milano.

key phrase though is "in that spot" . I love what lewis brings but in a 4th line role only

Fair enough. I just don't see why you'd want a zero defense player on what will probably be our best checking line.

Agreed,

However its clear the Flames have an area of need, can they find a right winger and can the cap space work? Guessing cap is the problem

Bottom 2 lines, won't generate much offense in my view with the current lineup

Pelletier is the perfect player for the 3rd line spot with Backs, he just needs to prove he's ready first

Loved listening to Darryl today.
Hey Darryl what do you think about playing the Champs in game 1 ? Why NOT?

I like it too. If they get stomped they'll learn earlier. I just want to see effort for 60 minutes and I think they'll get it.

We have a more vet team that has 7 Stanley cups on it. I hope by Christmas or earlier we have some chemistry developing for these guys and they bank points so we clinch a spot early and can take our foot off gas a bit to prep for POs .

We're moving in the right direction . Now to learn consistently that this game is ever changing....even Darryl mentioned that today.

It took some head scratching on my part, but I think I've figured it out.

-Coleman (2)
-Lucic (1)
-Toffoli (1)
-Kadri (1)
-Lewis (2)

I would submit that it 'sounds like this' because that's exactly what happened. I refuse to believe that Sutter is going to send guys to the farm that have earned a spot on the roster.

This year might be a bit different, in that it's going to take ~20 games for the new guys to acclimate to Sutter's system and would give the kids on the farm some game reps to tweak the big club's curiosity. But absent that line of thinking, I still refuse to believe that a deserving player was assigned to the Wranglers, especially on the right side.

I don't know, maybe we are debating the difference between who 'could be' and 'should be' the #3RW.

At the end of the day it's on the guys trying to make the team to try to make the best of the situation. If you can't beat Trevor Lewis, Brett Ritchie, Stone for a spot on the team you have a lot of work to do.

Darryl actually made the comment that a few of the players who were sent down actually outplayed some of the guys on the current roster, but there was various reasons that those decisions were made.

Lewis does a lot for the team. Anything that’s asked of him.

Says a lot about him that he’s still around at 36.

Also says a lot about the younger players that can’t supplant him.
