while I understand the LTIR cap relief issue with Janmark- do they even have room to carry both Janmark and Ryan on the NHL roster otherwise? I suppose yes if they went with a 20 man roster

I wonder if anyone claims Janmark. He is a guy that has the ability to get 30 points in the bottom 6. He had 25 points in 67 games last season, which is a 30 point pace and has flirted with scoring 20 goals in the past.

Janmark would be a great pickup for the flames.
He's 29 and He produced at the same clip as coleman last year.

Janmark-backlund-coleman is a ####ing solid third line.

LTIR is stupid when it's for guys that likely never play again or are going to miss the whole season.

Teams should have to send players to league doctors for their assessment and if it's determined they can't play then their cap hit should just be removed for that season.

Call it season ending LTIR or something.

Then the normal LTIR should just be for guys that actually get hurt during the season.

Agree - I like him better there than the guy we just picked up off waivers I think.

Pick up Janmark and make the Oilers look stupid for mismanaging their cap space. Dude is a solid 3rd liner all day long.

Surprised Janmark didn’t get picked up by anyone. Martinook could have been a solid pickup as well, but not given teams’ current cap situation.

Good. No one is giving the Oilers any help with their cap constraints

I like this idea. Maybe call it ‘non-recallable IR’, and make it so the player could not be returned to the active roster for the rest of that league year, including playoffs.

Yeah, I thought after seeing Zohorna on waivers again already, that maybe the Flames would pick him up.
