I’m pinching myself and saying there is no way this is real. 6.25??? Fully expecting a late ‘it’s actually 6.35 AAV’ or something because damn that’s a friggen team friendly steal of a contract through all of his prime!

Lol, those Oiler trolls on Freidge's twitter saying most overpaid contract in the NHL. Weegar, the better dman, is making $3M LESS than Nurse. I wouldn't trade those guys one for one even if they both made $9M.

This trade was the biggest blockbuster of the cap era. 3 players all signing max term deals $50M, $76M, $84M deals. The Flames use the draft pick acquired in the deal to free up the space to sign the second best free agent available after losing the top free agent. Still such a shocking summer. Really glad to have this new core locked up

If legit, we have Klingberg's former agent to thank for this. Klingberg reportedly turned down an 8yr @ ~$6.5M from Dallas, and ultimately had to settle for a 1yr @ $7M from a non-playoff team in FA.
