No. That was Ryan Murphy.

I remember he had literally just posted something about being happy to go to Calgary and was excited for the opportunity... then it was announced we immediately bought him out.

Anyhow, it's a pretty minor "What if?" of hockey history but I wonder what would've happened in the alternate universe where the Oilers draft prairie-born, Oiler-fan Murray over Yakupov in the 2012 draft? Is he still injury prone? Does that team do better with a defensive defenceman? One thing's for certain - unless he's traded, he doesn't get his name on the Cup (though not sure he did last year based on games played - team may have to petition for him to be added?)
I feel his career would have been over about 4 or 5 years ago had the Oilers drafted and developed him.

Low risk minimum salary signing who should be a #6/7

He will end up being elevated to a top 4 role and the Oilers faithful will run him out of town though.

It would've worked out better for him financially as he'd have gotten a 6x6 coming out of his ELC, but Oilers medical staff would have him LTIRetired by age 25. As of now he's only earned about $22.5M and now he's going to the worst possible place to rebuild value (though EDM will probably give him the Koskinen deal on Jan. 1)
