One more win to reach 700 wins in his career. He should get to 800+ if he coaches 2 more years after this one. Two time Stanley Cup champion, Jack Adams winner

Darryl Sutter should be in the Hall of Fame

Looking at the big picture, you're not wrong.

Sutters a different kind of human though. He will coach as long as he wants to, could just as easily retire at the end of the year and it wouldn't cause him to lose a wink of sleep whatsoever.

All things considered? I say we get 2 more seasons after this one.

Came to post this specifically. Darryl is not the clearest orator as it is, particularly when making important points. #### the canned crap music bed. IT DOES NOT HELP?? Maybe this should be a YKWRGMMFG post?

Every Sutter interview is a great interview.
Yeah the 960 commercial I heard yesterday was funny. Tough to edit out that much and have anything left to play.

"Markstrom with the huge save"
"And the Flames win 3-2"
"AND the C of Red rises"

No Gaudreau, Tkachuk etc.

And agree turn down the damn music!

I 100% agree but I would add that there is another possible factor. Like Sutter, I’m also the parent of a child with developmental disabilities and I can’t imagine thats not a part of his thought process as well. Time away from family has to be a factor for him. Also, with children like we have, your priorities can be changed on you very quickly.

Depending on the team success *nojinx* I would assume this season and next.for sure, as that's the general time frame given last year. Lines up with Treliving's contract as well I think.

We are very fortunate to have him in many number of ways, leading this team and organization, so the longer the better.

And he's invested in making sure guys are prepared for every situation they can be.

When he talks Kadri he mentions how versatile he is and how that's a great thing. I like that he added once you've won it all that hunger for more doesn't go away and that's this team's new culture.

Instill that and we have hope. This is what we do here.....win, compete, prepare and always compete at the very least.

I think today was pretty loose and Darryl you can tell is just ready to go go go. He seems genuinely happy, focused and that's awesome.

Drop the puck.....go Flames Go.

I was kind of really hoping that you'd see the rookies in the background plowing his fields and rustling his cattle.

That would have been priceless.

He mentioned that the addition of Weegar brings competition to the group calling out Hanifin, Ras and Tanev specifically, referencing the top 4. Mentioned that championship teams have superstar defensemen who can do it all and then transitioned to Ras and Weegar being very similar players who are good and both sides of the ice and need to take steps to become superstar defensemen. Said a few times that he's going to let things play out in camp when asked about lines, etc. but also mentioned that Mangiapane will probably play with Lindholm or Kadri when asked specifically about Mangiapane, adding that it depends more on who Lindholm and Kadri play best with. Said he's not worried about Huberdeau's defensive game because he'll play with good players and that he'd also make other players better. Focused on everybody needs to improve this year and can be better. Called out Edmonton and LA as the teams contending for the division.

Rustling cattle is a hanging offense in cattle country.

Yes, same here. It’s always awesome to hear about the game from knowledgeable people that are willing to dumb it down for the rest of us. I liked the 10% more comment. That’s how you improve on a career year, by improving fitness and hockey skills by 5% each.

Another thing that caught my ear was that there was no competition for the top 4 last year, but there will be this year. I interpret it as him expecting Kylington to push for a top 4 spot, which is great. I also liked the Dube comments, about expecting more from him this year, nothing about Ruzicka though.

Penalty in the offensive zone has to be cleaning the chicken coop. My god...
