The tweet was from 2 weeks ago. Things are much worse than they were then, I'd guess?

These floods are truly devastating and aren't getting enough attention. Really hope other countries step up to support them right now.
Western news at times is embarrassing. In coloured countries stuff is reported on if it fits a western narrative (terrorism, famine, etc). Even silly social media slacktivism doesn’t do much. There is no “pray for Pakistan” or black square (thankfully so), but you can bet if stuff happened to a country more relatable there would be these campaigns.

It started with glacial lakes spilling out and the monsoons added to the problem.

This thread could use some good news.

It's nice to be positive but the thread should focus on the realities of the situation around the world.

Umm, this thread could use some positive news out of Pakistan if there was any, not positive news to get away from the flooding devastation. That doesn't make any sense, lol.

This is true tragedy in real time, and the thread is for that.

It was a specific reply to the person obviously being shaken up about plague, floods, war & drought. I thought it might help pick up their spirit a bit.

Yes indeed, I was speaking with someone at AFRED about this just yesterday. Seems like our farmers are likely to see a windfall.
