I watched the Twitch steamer XqC play slots on Monday for about 30min. He was fast playing $1000 spins, thats $30,000-$50,000 per minute. In the 30 min I watched he went from 3.6 Million in his bankroll to 2.8 Million. $800,000 lost in 30 min, I could not even begin to imagine.

No they don’t see or hear you. At least at standard live dealer tables.

I think you can write messages to them, at least from what I've seen from some streams. There isn't too much banter or text yelling though as most people seem to just want to play/get hands in as opposed to blaming them for example.

I’d be wary of the streamers and casino play. A lot of their money is comped. Especially they real popular guys.

I wonder if they send each other these videos when they find them. "Hey Sally, check out this guy you ruined! LOL!"

I had always assumed that the dealers don't see the dollar values on their side. It basically shouldn't matter to them if it is $1 or $1,000,000 a hand.

But blackjack is also a terrible game to play if you’re trying to win money especially making large bets. My beef with blackjack at the casinos used to be that most people don’t actually know how to play. If you’re not hitting your 16 for example against a dealer’s seven or better, you’re hoping that they’ll bust.

When I play blackjack in a casino, I 100% rely on the grizzled old lady who smokes two packs a day to tell me whether to hit, stay, double down or split.

Online gambling removes that from the equation but still allows the people with me to get screwed over. For that reason alone I would never play online.

People have been gambling online for like 15 years haven't they. I mean now its legal - but even pre-legalization you'd get commercials for 'free-to-play' sites which I'm sure were advertising to pull you into their pay/black market sites. Its easier now for sure - but it wasn't exactly hard to do it pre-legalization.

What's the best app nowadays?

I've been using bet365 for a few years as they seemed to offer the best odds and variety of sports/bets. I haven't really looked around since the legalization came into effect though.

Blackjack has set odds. Unless you're counting cards, you're losing.

That being said, the edge to the house is .5-1%, depending on the specific table rules. When I go to Vegas, and they supply me with free drinks, it's a great game to play. I'll play for hours, lose a little cash, but be very entertained and drink a lot.

The odds chart says hit that 16 or split those double 8s, but man that just doesn't feel right every time you do it.

Online blackjack is a horrendously boring game to play, with no chance of wining.

Man, commercials during (NFL) games seem like 50% gambling ads with 10% for addiction counselling.

All casino dealers get to watch addicts ruin their lives, that's all you see in real casinos as well frankly, outside of crack dens casinos are the saddest places on earth

More than 20 years. The first real-money online poker site was Planet Poker, which launched on January 1, 1998. Some other online casinos predate that.

The massive boom in online poker started after Chris Moneymaker won the World Series of Poker in 2003 after winning his entry fee in an online tournament.

After that, the "free to play" facades for the real-money sites started advertising everywhere.

Can confirm. I worked at a Casino for years while doing my Uni Degree. It was generally the same clientele day after day, and they'd lose thousands constantly. Every single time I saw someone win a decent payout at the Casino, it was a regular, who you knew had already lost 10 times as much that month.

Easily one of the saddest places I ever spent my time.

I've got some crazy gambling addict stories from my years there.

A few people I've worked with have gone as far as to play some speed rounds of poker on their lunch break. It seems insane to me as I gamble on maybe 5-10 UFC events per year, 1-2 trips to the casino and a once a year group lotto.

Making gambling a part of your daily routine seems like a horrible way to get addicted.
