Soccer jerseys and sports cards.
Got into sports cards when I was 6 and kicked it in Junior High. Then got back into it in 2011 and kicked it in 2017. Then really got back into it during the pandemic. Used to collect Flames and vintage hockey only but am now branching out into soccer and the odd football and basketball card.

I avoid collecting because I know that the style of collector I am is a completionist. Which gets very expensive.

I collect masks and teapots. I don't have that many of each, about 6 each, but if it is not mass produced and it represents the culture of a country, I buy it.

I collect signed flames jerseys (Iginla, Kiprusoff, Lanny, Patterson, Backlund, the entire 09/10 roster and more to come) but ill only buy them at auction. I also collect old SNES games and have a working console. All in all I have about 50 games, but some big name ones are Mario All Stars, Zelda Link to the Past and Super Mario RPG.

Transformers.
G1, although only from the show before the animated movie - so no Galvatron or anything like that. Only exceptions are Rodimus and Hot Rod.
Also, Masterpiece Transformers., which are much more detailed ones; they tried to capture the look of the carton with a realistic view. I have most of them now; just looking for the MP11 Thundercracker and Starscream. Not bothering with the live-action movie ones, which look terrible to me. Only the cartoon versions.
I was collecting Star Trek starships from Eaglemoss, but the last two orders had terrible customer service, and now I hear they're declaring bankruptcy overseas.

It's really hard. Mostly sweet talking and hobnobbing. Sometimes groveling.
Sometimes there are auctions. I tried to bid on some Whistler ones last year at a silent charity auction, but they went for more than I wanted to spend.
People on Kijiji etc tend to want more for them than I think they're worth, so I've never bought one off a rando.

Can’t believe I’m the first one to say it, but…. Model trains. Yeah, I can hear the Sheldon Cooper comments already. I had electric trains when I was a kid, then lost interest in my teens when stuff like cars, sports, and girls became a lot more important. Started collecting again in the mid-90s when someone gave me a model locomotive as a gift and it just kind of went from there. My collection definitely isn’t as expansive as some of the other ones I’ve seen, but I’ve got some neat stuff.
