QO is largely irrelevant in this case. If he lives up to expectations, his next offer will more than double his current AAV, whether it's the Isles offering it to him or some other team.

Since it seems like you are looking for a fight posting the same comment twice I will indulge. I suspect the delta between a long term contract for a 32 point forward and what that 32 point forward signed for is less than the delta between what Dobson, a 51 point dman signed for and what it would have cost for a long term contract. Put another way, I doubt that Dobson will sign his next contract for 235% more than the value of this contract. Either way, I don’t think Mangiapane has much to do with the Dobson contract, outside the remote possibility that Mangiapane and Dobson could have been teammates if we had not traded the puck that the Islanders used for Dobson for Hamonic.
