It coincides with the ice time he gets. He actually got less ice time last season than the season prior. Give him 2/3 more mins per game and you’re looking at a consistent 35-40 goal scorer. He would be great with Huberdeau and Tkachuk. I think we need to realize we finally have a solid sniper on this team.
Ive got bad news for you.

Think that makes sense for everybody involved. Keeps Oliver in RFA territory, too, I believe.
Kylington is 25. A 2-year deal would take him to UFA at 27.

Yup, you're right, I forgot he turned 25 already.

That's just a ridiculously strong group, the kind that wins you a Stanley Cup. I think you only move one of those guys if the return knocks your socks off.

It’s a strong group, but kinda hard to make good pairings as the best 3 guys are RHS.

Weegar-Tanev is an enticing first pair, but then we might as well write off OK.

Or run 3 ‘equal’ pairs:
Hanifin-Weegar
Zadorov-Anderson
OK- Tanev

Yeah, I think that a 5 year deal at under 4M a season would be acceptable for both sides. It puts him in line for one more contract of good size at age 30, and the Flames gamble that he will outplay the contract. I think that he will, especially with the cap going up halfway through it.

Weegar is a rhs that plays left. I think we experienced what forcing it does a couple of years ago. Hopefully, we don't have go force history to repeat itself and waste a season in the process...

If Kyllington is over 3M...I think we should shorten the deal so that he comes in under. I would rather pay him what he is worth in 2 years if he keeps growing than risking a boat anchor. Still not sure if he is Gustavson or Brodie...

I just realized that Markstrom is now the highest paid Flame on the active roster....although that changes when Monahan returns.

I know he can play left side…are we sure it’s actually his preference/where he plays best? Seems like it was by necessity in FLA and they might have moved him right when they got Chiarot?

A Zadorov-Kylington bottom pair would be…entertaining?

I think a lot of people forget how steady Oliver was before he got injured. Tanev was incredible, yes, but Kylington was making *very* few mistakes, and he was always getting back to fix the ones he did make.

Huge upside if he can find that again.

Yup, Kylington wasn’t the same after he was KO’d that time he went head first into the boards. I still can’t believe how quickly he was back playing after that. Can’t help but think it really rattled him. Of course, he got injured again after that which didn’t help.

Before that, he was pretty solid in his own right.

I thought he would be done for a while after that.

I hope we can get Kylington signed to a decent contract. One of my favorite current Flame and I want to see him continue improving. Took some significant steps last year.
