Hate to say it but Gaudreau/Tkachuk were so badly outplayed by McDavid and Edmonton is only going to get better in the coming years. The Flames would have remained very competitive with the two, but I don't know that their ceiling was quite high enough in the potential upcoming window.

I see what you did there.
Why do you hate to say it? Even if he was, it's not like the team can't ever get another player as good or better. It isn't a one time only thing.

Iggy wasn't the only great player the team is allowed. Johnny won't be either.

Yeah I just mean with the lously luck this team seems to always have, it would be hardly surprising if they don't land another elite player anytime soon...

Well, I won't argue that they weren't out-played, but that was some of the worst coverage that I have ever seen on McDavid, Draisaitl, Kane and Hyman. They played river-hockey, even in the first game, and constantly looked like they were rattled. I didn't think that the top line played badly - I think the entire team played badly, sans Backlund.

The most endearing thing about Richards was the way he’d carry the torch for this city. His enthusiasm for all things Calgary was infectious. He didn’t have this ironic detachment that every SAIT broadcasting grad has. He was bout it bout it.

After the last few days, this city could use a little more “Calgary ####in rocks, mmmkay?” On its airwaves.
