There really is no answer to this thread. Healthy Vegas, Edmonton, and a healthy L.A. all have better rosters, and none of those teams hold a candle next to Colorado or Tampa tier teams.
The only player we maybe should be targetting is Dumba, given that he is a RHD in his prime and a local.
The treadmill is not the answer.

They'll probably sign Jay Beagle.

Tbf i would take Kessel for a reasonable number.
We can take as many shooters here as we can get.

He is more of just a puck distributor these days. Racks up assists, but only had 8 goals last season and 175 shots in 82 games (played 16:41 per game).
For context, Mangiapane had 35 goals, 185 shots, while playing 15:44 per game.

As someone who watched a lot of Kessel last year, dude's still got it. He can still fire it when he needs to. I'd love if he came here.

I would take they bet. He will just play out the year and pick where he wants.

Close. They'll sign 'Jay Smeagle' to keep with the theme of this offseason so far.

Trade Tkachuk
Trade Lucic
Sign Kadri
Sign Klingberg
If they are dead set on going for it then swing for the fences. No half arse bs.
Would much rather see an overhaul full rebuild with the intent of being competitive again in 3-4 years though.

Tkachuk for Kyrou + Thomas/top prospect, then Kadri and Klingberg. I actually like that.
Swapping for players on ELCs is the way to keep pushing your window forward.

Klingberg would be the most bold move that meets a team need. All the others seem unlikely as the Flames don't have the assets to make them happen. I don't think anything happens until the Tkachuk situation is hammered out. If he signs the qualifying offer the Flames are likely pushed into a rebuild, so nothing happens. If Tkachuk forces the team's hand to over-pay him on a big long-term contract, they need to find room to bring in other support players. Too early to say, but everything is dependent on Tkachuk and what he does.

There is no big move to be made. Team can’t afford it
These are remaining cheap UFAs that may worth a shot

If we're talking strictly realistic options-
Klingberg and Milano here i honestly think is doable.
If Pelletier is NHL good and Mangiapane can be a 1LW we could make out okay with a defense-first system.

Mangiapane - Lindholm - Tkachuk

Pelletier - Monahan - Toffoli
Lucic - Lewis - guy
Hanifin - Andersson
Kylington - Tanev
Zadorov - Klingberg

Thomas will never get moved and due to their relationship they will want them playing together. Tarasenko still wants out of St Louis, he only has a year left but if the Flames are still going for it he would be a great add with Kyrou and a 2023 1st to complete it. That would help eliminate some of Gaudreau's loss as well. Hopefully you can sign Tarasenko bit even if he walks you still have Kyrou and the 1st.

If it was me I’d go after Kadri.
If that didn’t work out I’d try and pry Kane loose out of Chi. Pretty sure he doesn’t want to be there anymore. I think JT Miller would be impossible to shake loose from vcr.
Big thing I’d also do in parallel is try to get Monahan off the books.

I would absolutely take Tarasenko, Kyrou and a first in the Bedard draft.
Would even do the 8 year sign and trade.
This is of course under the assumption that Tkachuk isn't too keen on being here long term.

Sign Justin Richards, he was a checking winger with the Hartford Wolf Pack last year who could fill a role for us.
