Agreed.

I don't think he has the processing speed to play at the NHL level.

Considering the second year of his contract is one-way, it seems to me like ANA is expecting him to play at the NHL level.

He's always reminded me of Hathaway, maybe without as much meanness, but definitely of the hitting, fighting and energy-creating ilk.

20+ teams went after Gawdin and we are here worrying about Johnny?

.
Teams regularly hand out 1 way deals at low enough rates that they can still be sent down. It's a way of getting these type of tweeners inked. It gives them more financial security than any NHL job certainty.

Tough to do when your GM keeps brining in retread veterans that offer very little on contracts that are hard to bury instead.

Ducks signed Kirkland too, who really took off offensively for the Heat this year.

Interesting, thought the Flames would've brought Kirkland and Philp back to compete for 4th line spots

Not surprised about Gawdin.

Not surprised about Gawdin.
Kirkland is 25, Philp 26, Gawdin 25. Of the three, only Gawdin has ever played an NHL game.

Why would you be any more surprised about the others than Gawdin?
