I live in Ottawa and had my backyard destroyed last night in a storm (gazebo took flight and smashed into a fence and my garden). I need this win baby

I sure hope we get the guys doing the Colorado/STL game as refs at some point here.

Calgary has to be smarter... the extracurricular stuff after the whistle is killing Calgary's game/flow... it really does nothing either other than putting Calgary at a disadvantage.

Calgary is the better team 5 on 5 - they have to keep it that way.

Markstromm needs to play better. As someone posted previously, his performances versus Edmonton the last 15 games aren't especially great... Calgary will need some great performances from him (and the defense of course)... but him in particular needs an Oettinger-esque performance or two this series.

Just win.

To do so need to Stay out of the box and Markstrom needs to find his game against the oilers. Need less penalties and more saves. The rest will sort itself out.

I’d rather see a 1-0 win, Flames controlling pace and rolling four lines.

GWG by Lucic off of Nurse’s face and through Smith’s five hole.

GFG!

Flames stick to their game and they win. Stop the blue line turnovers, keep an eye on McD and it’s over.

Please stop getting sucked into playing the Oilers' stupid brand of penalty filled river hockey. Be smarter defensively, stay disciplined, keep it 5 on 5 as much as possible, and the Flames will win.

Is that a conspiracy-grade shot, or is Nurse literally standing on his head?

Edit: I ordered takeaway Japanese delicacies for Game 1. I did not for Game 2. Just received delivery tuna sashimi plate and Miso soup. Here we go.

It's weird but this entire playoffs for me has been kinda 'blah' so far, and not just this series. Maybe it's all the gambling ads/talk, maybe it's the inconsistent/brutal reffing, maybe it's the inconsistent Flames play, I don't know. But for the first BOA in 31 years I thought I would be more emotionally invested 24 hours a day.

Maybe tonight we'll see a lot more 5-on-5 play with some big hits and great plays by both teams (well, one more than the other) to get me into this series more.

Just want to see the Flames play well tonight. They've had 2 games now that were far from their best. Just win.

btw, great job as usual Cheese

The reffing isn’t going to change now, they’re going to continue to call absolutely anything they can because that’s what the league wants. They don’t care if it affects the flow of the game, they want basketball game scores.

Unfortunately, the Flames don’t have a power play anymore, don’t have Tanev and Markstrom has all of a sudden become inconsistent at the worst times.

I see mcdick getting his usual 4 or 5 points.

The Flames aren't finishing on the powerplay for sure, but they actually have the best powerplay both overall in the playoffs and in round two when it comes to expected goals for.

They're fine.

Just need to score.

I'm the same. The atrocious officiating has kinda ruined playoff hockey for me. For decades I've been used to watching fast, hard hitting, tight checking, exciting post-season hockey where the refs put their whistles away for the most part and let the teams battle it out. The way the game is being called now with the constant game management crap is a joke.

Also, as I've gotten older, I'm just not as emotionally invested in sports as I was when I was in my teens and 20s. If the Flames win, it's exciting and I enjoy the ride. If they lose then meh, whatever. It's just entertainment at the end of the day and it's really not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

That being said, losing to the this garbage one-trick pony Oilers team is still hard to stomach...so please Flames. Just beat these clowns already.

I'm with you guys as well. The league has decided that these playoffs should be used to showcase a different kind of special teams focused hockey instead of the tight, physical game I want to watch. It's really lost my interest. Playoffs should be intense but instead it's like we're watching a weird best of 7 regular-season series

Not sure this was directed at my comments, but the colorado game had 60 hits and only10 minutes in penalties.

aside from the first game of BOA, all of the other playoff games this round are pretty much what you expect in a playoff game with under 6 goals... (colorado's game yesterday had 3 EN)

Who is refereeing the game does make a big difference....

Stay out of the box, play between the whistles, be hard on McDavid, shoot everything on Smith... Keys to a win.
