Saying the suspension seems right, based off past suspensions only continues to enable the NHL to justify their “discipline”.

Doesn’t matter what happened in the past, they should be held to a more modern standard. No place in the game for this, could have really seriously injured the other player. Lucky it didn’t.

2 more years at $3.2m lol. One of their greatest contracts ... it's a shame Koskinens deal comes off the books this summer, but at least Nurse's new deal kicks in.

Good thing he is not a repeat offender, and it's his first game ever doing anything dirty, being the official KEEPER of the CODE

Lol on HF Oil

Honestly I don't think it was an intentional headbutt. More like trying to throw a shoulder but having poor body control and leading with the head instead.

I'm just glad this was announced before Benn got any ideas.

Definitely deserved a suspension.

I heard that they say one playoff game = two regular season games when it comes to suspensions. Not sure if that is true or not.

Glad it was at least a game suspension and not just a fine. Was an awful looking play.

Oh, I agree. That shouldn't be a factor in player safety. I was more thinking that it hurts the oilers and expressing my satisfaction at that fact.

Isn't there a specific rule against head butting?

Smith and Keith still have another year on the books. Ken Holland is really bad at his job.

Only reason Benn's slewfoots weren't suspension worthy is that they were unsuccessful in their intent to injure. This league is broken.

And he didn't see the ice for the last 15 minutes of the third period, apparently.

When you consider that DoPS likely considered that the only two options were fine or 1 game suspension, I guess it's great that he came down hard?!?!

The good thing about it is if the Oilers are eliminated in game 6, they will blame the series loss on Nurse's absence and there will be no need, in their mind, to make significant changes.
