This comes from a hardcore fan who has spent 25 years cheering for the Flames on foreign soil...to me, ESPN+ was welcomed as a better platform that also includes other sports at a big discount on the prior options.
With a lot of cheap ways to watch the various cable networks, it seems a bit harsh to give up on the NHL over this, but to each their own.

Yes, I was paying for ESPN+ anyways as part of the Hulu and Disney+ bundle. The fact that they suddenly started offering all of the NHL games was an added bonus.
Sling used to have a free trial but has since switched to the half-off first month.
DirectTV has a 5 day free trial. I might switch to Sling with Orange once my DirectTV trial is up.
