Is it just me? Almost feels like theirs no excitement around the city for playoffs? Even ticketmaster has tickets available at face value.

They probably have to win a round before the city starts to get truly excited

I think the price of tickets may have scared people off and for me personaly it has. It's become expensive and some might be thinking they're better off watching at home in front of their big screen TV's or going to a bar to watch.

The ticketmaster "face value" prices have been raised. Blues were ~$190 last week and are $300 as of right now.

I am not sure what the city is like as I work from home and haven’t been out really in a while. I think the flames are getting too greedy with the ticket prices and people are not interested spending $300+ on second bowl seats.

If I end up losing big on this second pair I purchased I am not paying to go to any games next year. Ticket holders need that second round BOA in order to make some money back.

I can remember going to game 6 against the Canucks in 2004 and sitting in the lower bowl for just over a $100 and change. The prices today are beyound the reach of many people for these playoffs and it wouldn't surprise me to see some empty seats.

Can't go to the game but I'll be rocking my jersey downtown tomorrow and I have two flags on my car! Go Flames Go!

I'm doing Flames gear at work tomorrow, first time since well before covid. It will take a lot of people off guard since I'm typically low-key.

Car flags will be mounted when I feel confident and we have a game or two under our belts.

I seem to remember reading this same article right before each of the Flames most embarrassing first round playoff exits the last 15 years

Why would you read the same article over 15 years?

I learned that lesson in the past. The Flames jack up the playoff prices to the point the price scares most people off. When they offered STH extra tickets, I forwarded the pricing to a small group of friends and asked if they wanted to take them (and be responsible for paying for them). No takers. One guy actually asked if the price was for one ticket or a pair. Lol.

Everyone I talk to is pretty excited and the Dome will be rocking starting tomorrow. But I don't think the casual fan in the city will really go HAM until there is a tipping point. I can count two potential tipping-points:

1) Flames face the oilers in round 2 - Battle of Alberta would be epic starting with confirmation that it's happening

2) Flames put the kings on the brink of elimination in Round 2
