Rangers in 6. They have played the Penguins well this season and the Penguins goaltending situation is unsettled as Jarry seems to play his worst hockey this time of the season.

Penguins in 6.

I feel like the Rangers are a pretty average team that has rode a hot goalie of most of the season.

They have the worst possession metrics out of all the playoff teams.

I've mentioned before a few months ago that I think these Pens are going to be a tough out. A rested Malkin, and Sid being Sid means Pens in 6 for me.

John Bartlett, Garry Galley, and Caroline Cameron are the announcers for most if not all of this series.

I was coming in here to say exactly the same thing. The Penguins recent playoff performance and the fact that they have a lot of pending UFA's on the roster likely suggests it's time for the team to turn things over a bit here. Crosby will be 35 when next season starts, and Malkin who is one of those UFA's will be 36. As good as these two are, it's hard to win in this league with guys that age driving the bus for you.

I think the Pens are the most under-rated team in the east. Plus, Crosby.

I will say that if I see Adam Fox with his head on the top of his own net and crying like Murray Bannerman in 1985 that will warm the sub cockles of my heart. If the Rangers lose the series I sincerely hope that it is entirely his fault.

I don't much care if it's his fault or not, I just want him to lose! Lose year after year after year till eternity!

Moneypuck has Rangers 50.6% vs Penguins 49.4%

PlayoffStatus has Rangers 65% vs Penguins 35%

NHL.com staff picks were Rangers 14 votes vs Pittsburgh 2 votes

I'll go against the house and say Crosby plays like it's his last chance at glory and carries the Pens in 6.

I have a soft spot for Penguins the animal.

I have a soft spot for Penguins the team because of Crosby.

I dislike the Rangers and that dislike turns into hatred because of Erixon and Fox.

So, the Rangers and those two &*#&$ can rot in hell till eternity.

If the Pens win this round, the rest of the east better watch out… Crosby, Malkin and Letang could be this year’s sleeping giant. When those guys are healthy and get on a role (like they would if they won round 1), this team is a wrecking ball in the playoffs.

Jarry now expected to miss the first two games due to injury.

Rangers in 6 due to Goalie advantage. It hurts for me to type this as I'm a huge Crosby fan.

Came to say exactly this. Pens are sneaky good, and you can never discount Crosby. Goaltender situation a bit shaky.

Shesterkin can carry a team to a Cup final though he's that good this year.

Big hit by Lindgren on Rakel.....2 minutes for roughing even though entirely clean.

Have to say I don't agree with that call on the late Rangers goal. Penguins got very lucky.

I look at it this way. If that was Matthew Tkachuk scoring that goal for the Flames I think we would all expect that goal to be overturned so I'm okay with it.

When you watch the replay you can see the right leg of Kakko sweep into the pads of DeSmith. He didn’t try to avoid contact. That was the issue.
