These last games against Nashville are awkward. I want the flames to keep winning and keep rolling, but the Preds going into a tailspin will open the door for Vegas, which I really don’t want either.

Oh well, guess all they can control is how they play going in to the playoffs so I’m hoping for a strong effort on the second half of back-to-backs with the backup goalie in. Wouldn’t shock me one but to see the flames win this one.

Hopefully the Flames can ramp up the intensity and grind Nashville into dust.

Selfishly, I'd like the Flames to face Nashville in the first round so I can visit Nashville for the first time in the playoffs

How many players have had 100 points NHL?
As of the completion of the 2020–21 regular season, 111 ice hockey players in the National Hockey League (NHL) have scored at least 100 points in a single NHL regular season. Collectively, these players have achieved this feat on 284 occasions, playing for 25 franchises

Not sure how accurate my filtering is, but from NHL.com, 7453 skaters have played in the NHL since 1917.

To get 100 points, you fall into the 1.5 percentile of NHL players.

Does anyone know how home ice for the Conference final is decided? Is it straight regular season points or does winning the division get you anything?

It’s straight points in the conference finals and Stanley cup finals

Its straight up points and the same tie breakers all the way along. That's why its important to finish ahead of St. Louis and Minny if possible. Finishing with as many points as possible is important as you never know who is going to come out of the East either.

Nashville is awesome. If they play them I want Flames fans to swarm it (not just to party - to tell Flames players to get to bed).

I looked it up quickly and might be wrong, but I think only 10 American born players have ever done it. Would be quite the feat.

1. Pat LaFontaine
2. Brett Hull
3. Kevin Stevens
4. Joey Mullen
5. Patrick Kane
6. Jimmy Carson
7. Johnny Gaudreau
8. Craig Janney
9. Neal Broten
10. Doug Weight
11. Auston Matthews

There were 10 players entering this season — now Gaudreau and Matthews have also done it.

I missed Johnny and Matthews. Hull is Canadian born. You missed Roenick.

I count 13 American players. Though you said American-born, so Hull doesn't count?

Hull (4), Roenick (3), Kane (2), Stevens (2), Lafontaine (2), Carson (2), Broten (1), Leetch (1), Janney (1), Weight (1), Mullen (1), Matthews (1), Gaudreau (1).

1253 American born players to play in the NHL

So, down to 1 percentile in that specific category

It's a win win night to me. If we win it's closer to clinching, if the Preds win it hurts Vegas and their cheating asses chances.
