The Flames lost that game more than Vegas won it. That was a brutal stretch in the second that was all self inflicted.

Totally, they also blew a ton of glorious chances

Come on, Vladar was never going to start this game.

Okay let's go straight from giving Marky 1-2 game off to he will sit for a month. Reasonable take.

Despite the score it wasn't a terrible game. Just one distraction that showed you have to play hockey instead of try to send a message.
  • Bad night for our 3rd pairing.
  • I believe Gudbranson was a -5 tonight, two were kind of PP goals.
  • I think it will be a good lesson for this team to not get distracted by a bad hit on one of our top players.
  • Our 3rd line needs a new look offensively, I hope that Ruzicka gets another chance to center it
  • Mangipane - Toffoli seem to have a hard time creating chemistry 5 on 5
  • Kylington's speed was missed
  • We had plenty of chances, couldn't get the puck in the net.

I want to see this for the line-up next game:
Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Mangipane - Backlund - Jarnkrok
Coleman - Ruzicka - Toffoli
Dube - Carpenter - Lewis

Keep the D pairings, and start Vladar.

Too many chances right up the middle in the last two.

Need to stop that. The middle of the ice in our zone has been off-limits at even strength for much of this season. Get back to that.

Good defence leads to offence. Start there.

No more emulating the Oilers.

Not putting this one on Markstrom obviously the entire team was on vacation.

Thought they looked fine right until that surprise first goal. Then…. Nope.

Flames didn't lose the game because Markstrom started....and he was always gonna get it after last games pull (which like this one was more about the teams play)

I like the look of those lines.

Running away with the division? Best team in the league since the ASB?

Team has nothing to play for, they aren't going to go balls to the wall every night

Kylington's fault. We haven't won with him in the lineup for weeks!

The Flames have strung together some very uninspiring performances. It's quite something that they won five in a row with they way they have been playing. Attention to detail has been a big issue with them lately.

For me, somethings been off with the team for a few weeks now. Yes I know we won 5 straight before tonight.

As great as the Flames have been, the playoffs are going to be a tough time if this particular version of the team comes to play. They seem to have kind of lost the thread along the way.

Similar level of play that they displayed in the Seattle games. Unfortunately, they weren't playing Seattle.

Flames just plodding along doing barely enough to beat all the ####ty teams they've been playing, and then a hungry, desperate team with everything on the line comes along and steam rolls them they aren't even there.

Better figure out a way to ramp it up about a half a dozen levels. The payoffs are coming fast.

Wake up call. Learning lesson. Not worried about tonight's result as long as the players learn from it.
