Middle six is not a threat lately

Great game from Markstrom though. Good to get a point when one great Gaudreau effort and a good goalie performance were all that was positive.

Hopefully Kylington is ok also. He will be massively missed if he’s out for a while.

Honestly the decisions to end that game were baffling.

DO
NOT
Play
Backlund
In
OT or SO
Ever.
In his defense, he did score a shootout winner earlier this season.

Kings the better team tonight and deserved the 2 pts.

First time since January 13th they have lost two in a row.

And they still got a point.

Congrats LA on winning the skills comp.

If this is the Flames in a slump, I'll take it. Pretty sloppy game for the most part, but they woke up in the 3rd and got a well deserved point.

Shootouts are always a coin flip, so who gives a rat's ass? Also, this result screws the Oilers, so I'm not even that mad. Just gotta learn from their mistakes tonight and bring their A game on Saturday night against the Blues.

Terrible game from Backlund tonight. The tying LA goal is on him for losing his man.

Playing 30 games in the last 60 days, or whatever the number is, it’s starting to show. We look like a team that’s lost our edge. Hopefully we can coast to the finish line on fumes and have some left for the post season. Otherwise it’s gonna be another short and painful playoffs in Calgary.

Flames aren't that hot against the Pacific in general this year. Need to get this figured out here before the playoffs.

Brutal considering how many injured players LA has.

They might say the message is that they haven't made the playoffs yet but they sure don't act like it. And that's not good because you can develop bad habits.

Missed the game, doesn’t sound like I missed much. How very old school flames to lose to a beat up team who was on a back to back that the oilers beat the night before. Ah well, move on and be ready for the blues on Saturday. They are never an easy opponent.

The Flames Oiler'ed that game (blowing one to a team playing their backup on the back-end of back-to-backs)

The last 3 Flames goal scorers in the shootout:
Gaudreau vs Anaheim
Tkachuk vs Anaheim
Backlund vs Pittsburgh

Pretty obvious what decides shootout participants guys...

Honestly, not surprised or that upset. Screw the Oilers but still get a point. They are struggling with their game right now. I know Darryl will pull them together shortly. The sky is not falling.

Boring game, and I agree that Backlund in the shootout was an odd choice. Oh well.

Won’t be the last game we lost this season. Hope for a bounce back on Saturday.

Both their goalies have played 30 some games and they are 9-2 on the 2nd half of back to backs

You don’t put Backlund in the shootout ahead of Gaudreau, Tkachuk, lindholm, toffoli or Mangiapane
