Lets go Monahan! I wanna see him climb up and center that third line. It's been a rough couple of seasons for him but if he can find more of his game back for playoffs it's almost like adding another piece at the deadline.

I know you all watch Darryl's interviews and enjoy his quotes.

His psychological approach with the Flames in 2004 is the same as he's using now. The underdogs. Us against the world.

And, really, he's not wrong.

yeah, no

they can get their points elsewhere, we're not in the business of boosting the confidence of teams in our division

Only if the oilers need flames to win to earn the #2 WC spot.

Then you have to decide:
1) Should I dress a bunch of prospect and rest all the star players, and watch their fan base pull their hair out?

2) Help them make the WC and watch them waste 8 days with Colorado?

Likely don't have the cap room to do much of that.

LA Kings Insider - 3/31 Preview – No Skate in Calgary + 11/7 vs. 12/6, Back-to-Back Success, JAD recalled

Following last night’s game in Edmonton, and the travel here to Calgary, the Kings did not hold a morning skate in advance of tonight’s game versus the Flames. Goaltender Jonathan Quick got the nod yesterday evening, which points to Cal Petersen going tonight versus Calgary. Should Petersen get the nod this evening, he brings with him a 1-2-0 record all-time against the Flames, with a .924 save percentage and a 2.71 goals-against average.

Here’s how the Kings lined up yesterday against Edmonton –
Iafallo – Kopitar – Kempe
Moore – Danault – Arvidsson
Vilardi – Byfield – Kupari
Grundstrom – Kaliyev
Maatta – Stecher
Bjornfot – Durzi
Moverare – Spence
Edler
Quick
Petersen

As expected, the effect on the forwards was more or less the opposite, with certain individuals gaining ice time. Adrian Kempe logged an NHL career-high 25:03 last night, leading all Kings forwards. Anze Kopitar played over 24 minutes, while Phillip Danault was above 23 minutes. Those three players were the biggest recipients of the 11/7 look.
The alignment also led to some additional ice time for a player like Quinton Byfield, who saw a couple of shifts with the Kaliyev / Grundstrom tandem, on top of his regular line.

The Kings have been one of the NHL’s best teams this season when it comes to handling back-to-back games. With 13 back-to-back sets already played, and tonight marking number 14, the Kings are also among the league leaders in quantity, with only Arizona and New Jersey playing more entering tonight’s game.

Drove down from St. Albert for the game tonight. Bringing my 2 oldest sons, my niece, and nephew. Raising the next generation of Flames fans! Hoping for a win and a few goals to cheer for.

Why not? We are so dominant this year it's like going back to the 80s where i would sympathy cheer for super crappy teams like Hartford, Detroit and Quebec to beat us.

Go Kings Go! I guess it would really suck if you had to pay to goto the game though.

A rare circumstance where the salt from oilers fans will be stronger if the flames lose than if they win.
