They better do it in a hurry as hopefully they are only getting about 8 minutes of ice time.

Much more speed, with Lucic as a regular sub-in

I think giving Lucic some r+r is a priority for sure. He’s been looking ragged for a few weeks.

If that 14 includes Brett Ritchie, your math is off.

you know what is awesome? Sutter has a lot of options to find a good combo for what he needs.

I still like the top line and it should stay, but here are my tweaks, nothing is permanent as Sutter will mix things up if we aren't winning.

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Mangiapane - Backlund - Toffoli
Dube - Jarnkrok - Coleman
Lucic - Monahan - Lewis

That leaves Carpenter and Ritchie out. I would rotate Carpenter in for Lewis, Monahan and Lucic depending on who is playing well. Ritchie when we need more toughness, like against the oilers.

I like the top line still, Tkachuk needs to score more often! If he can catch fire, look out.

That 2nd line is defensively sound but can score loads of goals. The 3rd line is not something we have seen but could work out for us, defacto shutdown line.

4th line is full of checking and energy guys, Monahan isn't a write off, he will turn things around. I think being expected to have 1st line minutes and responsibilities wasn't good for him, that has changed and I think he'll be able to hide in the shadows especially in the playoffs when things tighten up, you'll see, he will help the bottom 6 succeed and helps us with secondary scoring.

Overall, I think the team is in really great shape, more RHS centres to help and be able to help from the wing.

This has to be the most exciting season we have had in a long time. We are poised to have a long run. Make it so Sutter and co.

Ritchie is a very usable 4th liner in short stints.

He will come down after a month in popcorn row and play like a maniac for you.

You just don't want him in the lineup on a nightly basis.
