I think that's a pretty good deal for SJ.

For context, Vejmelka and Anton Forsberg both just re-signed for almost identical contracts (3 x $2.75M). Something similar for Kahkonen (perhaps a little higher) and you've got a young cost-controlled goalie who's probably a 1B at worst, with 1A potential.

Glad the Oilers didn't get him.

In Edmonton, if you pay them like a #1, be it goalie, defenceman, centre or winger, they instantly turn into one. As is the tradition.

I forgot they did that. I'm still surprised as he seemed promising, and should also have been cheaper next year than Talbot.

Look at a guy like Ville Husso, who is over a year older and had really bad numbers last year (much worse than KK). Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up very good in SJ.
