I think I said this last time and I still find it sort of baffling so I'll ask again...
A lot of guys will watch mainstream porn for days on end and a lot of that is close-ups of Moustache Pete's engorged organ plugging various holes. To put it another way -- close-up shots of a man's penis -- and this is perfectly acceptable. And if it's not a close-up, they are shooting from such nice places as "between a man's legs, looking up" or "from behind". And don't forget of course the money shot. This is all well and good and extremely not gay.
But put a couple actors faking sex for less than one minute and wrap a 2 hour movie around it and that is just too much. It's too gay. It's gross.
I don't get it. Real man's penis, close-up, money shot = good. Fake sex, no penis, 1 minute = gross.
Can anyone explain this to me? I know nobody around here has ever watched or watches porn but I'm sure someone has a theory.

Really... Spare the PC crap.

Hey, I agree with you. I don't want to see that, so I won't go watch it. I don't get why we need to be questioned about our preference. And I don't get why your refusal to see this movie SHOULD be questioned. Downright bizarre.

I'm a big movie buff, and I do plan to see this movie ... however, I will admit that boys kissing, or even the hint of them having sex with one another makes me uncomfortable. While typing out this post I've been trying to figure out what it is about it that gives me the heebyjeebies, but I can't put my finger on it.
Like Cowperson said ... it's just two guys making out with eachother that's the problem!
It's just nasty ... If homosexuals enjoy it and want to do it then fine... just don't tell me about it or make me watch it.
Why do I want to see this movie again?...

Yes, that's what I am trying to figure out. I get it that guys don't want to see guys making out. But why? I don't get bothered if I see two girls kiss. So what is the difference?

Rouge, you may be overlooking the whole "male love story" aspect. Thats probably where the pain lies.
As for the dangling tea bag, yeah, I've seen it. To tell you the truth, I was more focussed on the other genetalia on the screen. Let's call it selective seeing.
Bruce, I'll chill with you at the pub and watch a game (oh, let's say... Minnesota vs. NJ) while everyone else watches two cowboys fall in love.

To me the movie doesn't seem that interesting and that has as much to do with me not wanting to watch it as having to see two dudes kiss. The gay aspect certainly makes me not want to watch it but if it seemed like a decent movie I may get past that and go check it out.

Maybe part of the reason is that we are subjected more to girl-on-girl type stuff in movies, tv shows, porn, while the guy-on-guy stuff is rare. Just like with gory movies these days... after a while, you become desensitized. I'm sure if I seen dudes making out enough it would probably stop being quite as disgusting.
However, I'm not willing to test the theory!

Nope, compensating for my fragile sexual confidence
Then after the movie I'd say how it was good so it's not like I'm protesting too much, but not great so it's not like I loved it, and I'd make sure to mention how hot Anne Hathaway's boobs were
I'd also be really touchy and pick fights because some guy makes eye contact with me or something

Maybe we see more girl girl sex is because girl bodies are beautiful to look at. Sexy, curvy females without hairy asses... Need I say more?

Beats me, maybe its biological...and also maybe girls can look at naked people without thinking it has be sexual. Guys are probably more hardwired.
A perfect example of this was a stip club near my old University in Sherbrooke Quebec. They had a format of 3 girl strippers then one guy. There lots of couples and mixed groups hanging out, and everything was normal during the girls acts...but as soon as the guys went onstage *BAM* almost every guy (myself included), had a reason to go do something anything else (get a beer, goto the can, tie your shoe, clean gum off the bottom of the table).

Another scary thing is when your hand accidentally comes in contact with another guy's crotch. Like when you're walking and you accidently bump into your friend's crotch. Uh...Of course, this has never ever happened to me, but I have seen this happen to other ppl..and the reaction is always horror screams and running away.

I am not entirely sure if I would buy into this. I think the reason that it is rarely seen, on television in particular, is because men are sensitive to it. I don't think that men are sensitive to it because it isn't shown.
Am I making sense?

Why is it so hard to believe that heterosexual men just want to see female gen.? It's not a phobia. Or maybe it is. Whatever, is there something wrong with a natural desire to only be interested in the opposite sex? I know we live in these enlightened days where men fifth basing is commonplace and socially acceptable, but is it now socially unacceptable to not want to see it, or even spend two hours in front of a screen that alludes to it?
