I'm not sure he's really be snubbed for all that long- it's a reasonably new thing, and as best I can tell there are only about 13 players that are most notable as NHLers (as opposed to women's players, builders including some builders like Pat Quinn who happened to play in the NHL)


so its a pretty short list, many of whom distinguished themselves primarily internationally (notably Henderson, but here Smyth qualifies too)


so feels about right for Lafleur. Again the 3 Bobbys (Orr, Clarke, Hull) are not there, or Potvin, Sakic, Richard etc etc
