-Should win the Habs game
-If we can beat the Avs and officially kick the monkey off the back from the series a couple years ago this Flames team will be unstoppable
-Oilers we're due to win after losing to them earlier in the year and should win considering the way we're rolling
-Cap is a toss up, they will want revenge for our win in their building earlier in the year
-Lighting is a toss up
-Should win the Red Wings game
Leave this 6 game stretch with 4 wins and its a success, anything less is a bust
vs Habs W - Just a horrible hockey team.
vs Avs W - A statement game, and the Flames make a statement.
vs Oilers L - A let down after a huge win. Flames continue to let McDavid beat them.
vs Caps W - Another statement game and the Flames take out their Oiler frustrations on the Caps
vs Lightning OTL - A true playoff game feel that goes to OT. The Lightning take advantage of the Flames' weak 3-on-3 play.
vs Detroit W - Detroit feels the wrath of the Flames coming off a close loss.
Biggest tests are Colorado and Tampa, Washington has been awful lately, detroit is bad, Montreal is awful but playing well lately, and the oilers are bad but lucky against us. Hoping for 5-1 but won't cry about 4-2. 3-3 or below would be depressing.
I'd like to see 9-11 points. Tough games will be Lightning and Avs but all 6 are winnable if the Flames play the way they can. Can't wait for that Avs game to see how they match up against the best in the league but Flames better not look past the Habs and stay focused. St. Louis has them playing much better of late.
To me, wins are secondary at this point. The Flames have built up such a big cushion on team #2, that even going under .500 would still earn the Flames top spot in the division based on the current points %.
I’m more interested to see how the Flames match up against the top teams of the conference. The dismantling of Minnesota was a delightful surprise. Doing the same thing to Colorado would likely vault the Flames to contender status amongst those in the media and experts alike. Big implications on the horizon.
