I get the impression more and more that if the flames can find a way to trade up on Dube even if it’s a rental that they will take it. The 2.3 mill it frees up will help pay a guy like Kylington and the flames need all the help they can get to extend Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Mangiapane and Kylington.

Sutter not messing around.
It was interesting to hear him speak yesterday about the Wild playing very similar to the Flames, but with more top-end skill. I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise to see more vets in the lineup if he thinks he is going to need more of a disciplined, shut-down effort.

Are you talking about Dube and Ruzicka?
This should neither surprise nor upset anyone. This is part of Sutter's MO when it comes to young players, and it is almost certainly very temporary. Besides, there was nothing wrong with how Ritchie and Richardson were playing before the trade.

Yes. Though I could be wrong about the stats.
They are the ones most frequently mentioned by Sutter as “learning to play the game”.

Hate that third line atm. Need another skilled skater for that bottom 6.
This is our slowest lineup so will be interesting to see how that plays out at game speed.

Ruzicka’s play has slipped over the last 3 games or so. Losing Lucic off his line didn’t help him.

Yeah not a fan of these line changes
What we had:
Dube - Monahan - Toffoli
Lucic - Ruzicka - Lewis
coaching then turned it into:
Lucic - Monahan - Toffoli
Dube - Ruzicka - Lewis
which was significant worse from what I watched, and now we get
Lucic - Monahan - Toffoli
Ritchie - Richardson - Lewis
Which is horrendous looking.

Dube has been sub 50% in xGF% five on five in each of his last four games (Monahan has as well, but with better numbers, Dube in the 30s twice)
Ruzicka has been pretty good actually.
Worst three last four games
1. Dube 42%
2. Monahan 46%
3. Toffoli 46%
Best three last four games
1. Mangiapane 73%
2. Backlund 72%
3. Coleman 72%
Ruzicka is actually 5th best at 65%
Can certainly see why they changed the third line, but it hasn't worked yet.
