I personally think Carolina is the best of the last 3 teams on this trip, so a win tonight would be a pretty big statement that the Flames aren't going away quietly.
Even if it's a loss with a solid effort and we push Carolina, that will be a good sign.
I'm worried it's going to be another ugly one though.

Man, the southeast road trip has become meat grinder. Can't wait to get this road trip over. I think it will be close one tonight, but I won't make any predictions.

We may loose but this team won't be walked on again, guys are showing they will stick up for each other. I can get behind that. I say the play for the guy sitting beside them tonight and gut this to a win in a tough environment and opposition.
Yep. Gudbranson (former CP whipping boy) pounding Maroon for chirping the bench showed this team has changed as well. He is one of my favorite flames this year. He went after Gudas too for running at Johnny. This would have never happened last year.

The hurricanes are stupid deep up front.

Third line:
Kotkaniemi - Staal - Necas.

I think he does need great players to compliment the elite things he does (that's not a slight).

My bigger beef is how useless the 2nd & 3rd lines have been at providing any semblance of consistent offense. I feel like we are all just waiting for backlund to find his 3M line mojo, but I'm becoming more and more sceptical of that happening.

I have fantastic news for all of you! With the Canucks game cancelled tomorrow I'll be watching this game to get my hockey fix this weekend! I know you're all thrilled with this.

Don't care about the result tonight (win or lose) but I would like to see the them play they were earlier in the season. Outside of against the hawks, I haven't seen the flames play to their identity for quite a few games now, even before the pause.

Ok we get it were not an elite club.

Don't need a third pounding in four days lol.

Perhaps Carolina assumes its in the bag and forgets to show up..

Calgary outplayed them last time...lost in OT with some ridiculously bad puck luck

Win would be good, I will take 3-2 on this trip

Vancouver is doing the same trip plus WAS and NAS.

That's absolutely brutal.

Flames need to score goals. That's the long and short of it. Vladar made such a valiant effort last night and it's a shame the team can't seem to help their goalies out.

Win or lose, I just want to see a solid 60 minute effort tonight. Get back to our A game where we have 4 lines that come at the opposition in waves with speed and hard forechecking.

I think what people didn't see coming was Backlund, Coleman, Dube, and Monahan producing as little as they have.

Mainly the bottom 6 as a whole.

I would've expected near 0.5 PPG pace from Backlund and Coleman.

That would be another 12 points or so between the two by this point and a huge difference in the depth production if they were up to par.

Or even of you don't get that, but you do get Monahan scoring like his old self and then the balance of scoring around the line up looks much better.

Between the three struggling offensively its really sucked our depth production dry. We needed them to play even just at their average over the last three seasons to have adequate depth contributions to this point.

An extra goal per night from the middle six and you're suddenly in much better shape.

We need to play the role of the sens last year.
Everyone looked past them and got into one helluva fight.
I don't care if we lose . I just want the canes to know they played a hockey game and barely came away with a desired result or NOT.

We need our swagger back but need to remember we have to play hard.

Darryl already said we're an okay checking team....we aren't a great defensive team....yet.

Just be a pain in the ass is all l am asking of these guys. Make it close .

It seems we only do well when our goalies play like brick walls and scoring doesn't need to be a factor....but losing the last 2 like we have is hard to watch.

A loss tonight would mean the team is on a 2-6-1 slump. A tough stretch, but not anything this team can't bounce back from. The schedule looks more manageable from here on out. The biggest thing is finding their mojo at home, something they've yet to do.
