Not a knife, but I picked up an AK bayonet when I was overseas, the scabbard serial number matches the bayonet, but which at the time was unusual.

I have an old Swiss Army knife, about a 4 inch locking blade that I have owned for ever and have been everywhere with me. It been a good little knife

When I read things like this it reminds me to never get in a fight. I would be so useless against anybody who has had more than five minutes of training.

I'm like one of those animals that just makes themselves look big and imposing to scare away threats as I'm just naturally big. If I have to back that up, though, I'm fataed.

The tuning you could give me with a Kobo would actually be comical. I've never even heard of a kobo until just now.

I don't carry anything for defense, because if you're ever questioned by a LEO on why you have such an item on you, and your response is defense, they are gonna get grumpy.
Just my $0.02. I'm not against self defense, far from it, just would be careful on mentioning why you're carrying something.

All this talk made me place an order with warriors and wonders.
At least that's my excuse. New knives = a good day.

I’ve received a CRKT knife for Christmas from a relative that works in an outdoor store, they were quite enthusiastic about it being an “every day carry” and clearly enjoyed showing off their their own EDC.

It appears to be a well enough made pocketknife… but other than that one summer at camp I’ve never really felt the need for a daily carry, my cutting needs tend to be restricted to the kitchen, where I’ve got fancy Japanese knives for food cutting.

But there’s definitely a hobby/collecting aspect at play, which there’s nothing wrong with.

I have:
Kershaw Tumbler
ZT 0462
Kershaw Payout.

I'm really want a couple of big spydercos next.

Also a fan of some of the older Civivis like the Shredder.

Currently looking at some fixed blades or even just making one of my own.

I carry a Leatherman skeletool cx most of the time. Mostly use it for opening Amazon boxes!

EDC knives can get a bit addicting. You go to some of the U.S knives websites and man alive. Some of these things are works of art and can fetch 5k plus.

Steel quality, build quality all have major effects on pricing. My ZT 0462 was my grail and I I got it this past year. It's more for show but the quality of it makes it mega useful for a lot of knives tasks when camping or working. Definitely not something I'd use to cut someone. It's too expensive and too pretty to use on ppl.

I saw a knife made from an A10 Warthog gun barrel on one of these US sites - very cool but way too expensive for me!

The whole EDC topic - not just knives - is addictive. I went down that rabbit hole a while ago. I’m a big flashlight guy - can’t have enough of them haha

Got it. I'll tell them it's for offense.

Not really sure what that is, but I tend to like art/display pieces that have a blade as part of them. I've always been more interested in the overall look, instead of the 'knife' part. If I need a knife, I'll just use my Leatherman.

Here's one of the older pieces I have

Spoiler!

I have this guy. Not sure where it originated from, it was in my dad's stuff and I liked it. Good for opening letters and in case you need to jab somebody at the front door. I really like the striped handle. I am not sure what's going on with the blade though, It looks wonky as hell.

The marking says "William Rodgers, Sheffield England" but it looks like they made a lot of these in different eras.

I saw one that has a *more* similar blade to mine listed as a hunting knife, but my blade is only 3" long. It seems way too small for hunting.. unless you're hunting chipmunks with it. But I presume this is what it was supposed to look like at one point.

After watching 127 hours, I knew I needed a survival knife every time I go outside of the city.

Make fun of me all you want, knives enthusiasts, but the Bear Grylls Ultimate Pro knife is still a feel good buy for me

Aside from the full tang with a hammer on its butt and a really grippy handle, you've got on the sheath a Fire starter, sharpener, whistle, "survival guide booklet"

Price point (bought it at $100 seven years ago) was great for me too

I'm a sucker for Zero Tolerance. My favorite knives are all ZTs.
